3 P 3 This weekend as we mark the traditional end of Summer we also mark the beginning of a new academic year at areas schools. Thanks to your generosity almost fifty area children, including a great many from our own parishes, will be prepared for the school with new supplies and clothes. Growing up I always remember we would take a picture on the first day of school with our new clothes, and supplies. The pictures have served as a visual timeline over the years depicting not only the growing up years, but also capturing beautiful memories. The great thing about such pictures is that no matter what happens in time, nothing can ever take away that moment shown. As we begin a new school year it is also time for us to gear up for a new year with Religious Education. This year, as we go to a Restored Order Model of the Sacraments of Initiation across the Diocese, and the future move of Confirmation and First Communion to Third Grade, there will be many changes to our own Religious Education Program. It will take time for us to get everything up and running, and to work out the kinks in the system, but we are firmly committed to building a religious education program that engages, challenges, and inspires our young people in faith. Beginning this weekend we will be registering children and families for the upcoming year and for religious education classes. Please help us get the word out to any family or friends who have children so that they can be prepared for the Fall and so that we may be ready to welcome them. This weekend as we enjoy the first look at the St. Martin Parking lot (and Holy Trinity Parking Lot the week after) a word of thanks to the many who have supported and continue to support this important project. S / R Get ready for the Grand Reopening Tailgate Party! If you are unfamiliar with tailgating, here are some pictures of what to expect! There will be lots of food, snacks, drinks and desserts hosted by many of our families and organization. Just walk around, eat, visit and partake in the excitement! We ll be looking for volunteers to be hosts, to donate supplies, etc. Details of our Grand Reopening Tailgate Party will be in next weekend s bulletin but get ready for the biggest parking lot party that Somersworth has ever seen!
