4 Mystik Canopy/Island Image Guidelines Tools Required Utility Blade Marker or Pencil Pin or Needle Plastic Squeegee Sponge Rivet Brush Ruler or Tape Masking Tape Isopropyl Alcohol Soap and Water Paper Towels Industrial Heat Gun Surface Preparation 1. Surface must be above 50 o F and below 100 o F. Surface may be heated or cooled mechanically before application. 2. Lifted or loose edges must be trimmed and smooth prior to application. 3. Clean surface with soap and water. Rinse and dry. 4. Clean surface with isopropyl alcohol using lint-free paper towels. Red and X-Form Decals Application Step 1: Install Mystik red solid vinyl all around the canopy (provided in 8 sections). After applying the decals on the canopy, all canopy seams should be cut and tucked into the seam with the squeegee edge. Step 2: Determine whether the fascia is primary or secondary, based on visibility/order. Install the X-Forms on 1 primary and 1 secondary side. Make sure the X-forms meet and line up on the edge where the secondary and primary meet. Step 3: Install the Mystik wordmark from the right edge of the primary side and centered top to bottom. Distance of the wordmark from the right edge is determined by the canopy fascia height. 5 Mystik Canopy/Island Image Guidelines Application Instructions 1. Apply a masking tape hinge vertically at the center of the decal. (FIGURE 1) 2. Fold half of the decal hinge, peel off liner to tape hinge, cut liner along hinge and discard. (FIGURE 2) 3. Fold back holding decal off surface. Starting at center of tape hinge, squeegee decal using very firm, vertical overlapping strokes. Throughout application keep the unapplied portion of the decal off the surface, allowing it to touch only from squeegee pressure. (FIGURE 3) FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 Panel Seam 4. While applying the decals on the canopy, ensure that all canopy seams are cut and tucked into the seam with squeegee edge. (FIGURE 4) 5. Remove masking tape hinge and the remaining liner. Repeat step Continue applying decals overlapping each one 1/8" to 3/16". Trim with razor blade if necessary. 7. Wipe with paper towel. (FIGURE 5) Finishing 1. Puncture decal in several places around rivet heads. Press out air with squeegee. 2. Use rivet brush and heat from an industrial heat gun to make the decal conform to the rivet head. (FIGURE 6) 3. Remove white paper premask by pulling it back onto itself. (FIGURE 7) 4. Eliminate air bubbles by puncturing decal at the edge of the bubble (not the center) with a pin or needle. 5. Press out the entrapped air starting at the opposite edge from the puncture. (FIGURE 8) 6. Re-squeegee all edges and overlaps. Reheat and use rivet brush to seal film over rivets. 6 Mystik Pump Image Guidelines Product Dispenser Decals - Refer to CITGO Decal Image Standards OVERVIEW OF FINISHED PUMP DISPENSER (1 HOSE) OVERVIEW OF FINISHED PUMP DISPENSER (3 HOSE) Remove existing graphics on the dispensers. Prep and clean surface prior to installation. The surface must be clean and smooth and free of any wax or silicone, oxidation or loose flaking paint. Surface and air temperature: Minimum of 50 o F Diesel pumps will be imaged with graphics pictured at right: (one size decal cut to fit) Valance decals are provided in 3 pieces. X-Forms are to be installed on the front face of the pump and sides will be solid red vinyl. You will have 2 pieces of graphics to wrap 1 valance. Prep and clean surface prior to installation. The surface must be clean and smooth and free of any wax or silicone, oxidation or loose flaking paint. Pumpskirt decals are provided in 2 pieces. Install the graphics by lining up the bottom left edge of the pump. Wrap the entire door with the graphics, including the side returns on the door. Trim any excess material. Install the Mystik wordmark 2.5" away from the top and left side edge of the door. See photos on previous page for placement on a single hose versus a 3-hose dispenser. Refer to visual image above. Install all other pump graphics provided for the dispensers, including octane decals, federal warning decals and product ID decals. Remove pump toppers on the current dispensers. Risers must be clean and free of vinyl. Canopy support poles and island curbs painted Mystik Bronze. Island guard poles painted Mystik Medium Red. Sign cabinets and sign poles painted Mystik Black. 5 May 2014
