TO TEACH Who Christ Is A $350 million campaign for strong parishes, Catholic education and faith formation in the Archdiocese of Chicago To Teach Who Christ Is is a $350 Million campaign, now in its final phases in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Every parish is participating, and now it is St. Bede s turn. About $200 Million of the campaign funds will be go toward the Archdiocesan goals: $150 for an endowed scholarship fund for Catholic school students and $50 Million for capital needs and Catholic school and religious education program improvement. The remaining $150 Million will stay in parishes for their specific needs. How Will Our Parish Benefit? St. Bede has already benefited from To Teach Who Christ Is. Over the past 3 years, our students have received $76,217 in Caritas scholarships, an initial benefit of the campaign. St. Bede Parish s campaign goal is to raise $720,000. For every dollar we receive up to this goal, St. Bede retains 60% for our parish needs. We will receive 100% of all funds raised over the goal. We have identified four major needs in the parish: $300,000 for tuck pointing and other repairs and improvements to the church $50,000 for reducing our parish debt $50,000 for assistance for our school and religious education programs $30,000 for repairs to our church sound system If we have sufficient remaining campaign funds, we can also assess the feasibility of using them toward making the church and Coleman Hall handicap accessible. Campaign Update To date, we have raised more than $85,000 thanks to the early commitments from 10 families! Thank you for your enthusiasm, generosity, and prayers! Our To Teach Who Christ Is Team continues to invite more and more families to participate each week. Please accept their invitation and prayerfully consider how you might help. Your gift will ensure a vibrant future for our parish, and Catholic education across Chicago. Parish Goal: $720,000 Total Pledged: $85,100 Percent of Goal: 11.8% Number of Pledges: 10 Average Gift: $8,500 Connect with To Teach Who Christ Is and stay up to date on campaign news and events: Twitter @ToTeachCampaign Facebook To Teach Who Christ Is www.toteachwhochristis.org Questions about your pledge or payments? Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a process for adults interested in learning more about the Catholic faith in order to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. This process is for all women and men who are not baptized or baptized in another Christian church and in need of further instruction or initiation, or those baptized in the Catholic Church but needing more instruction to complete the sacraments of initiation. Persons never baptized are referred to as catechumens, while those previously baptized are called candidates. Classes begin in the fall of 2016 in the Faith Formation Center Library.
