NOTICES Retirement news - Professor Mel Waters Dear St John's parishioners, I am writing to let you know that I have advised our Vicar Brad of my retirement date from St John's Toorak - at the end of January 2015. Next February, Nina and I will be going away for a few months, before settling on the Bellarine Peninsula later in the year. Meanwhile, I look forward very much to our next few months of shared parish worship, and to the wonderful treasury of music that we will continue to make together during this time, to God's praise and glory. In deepest appreciation, Mel Waters A note from the Vicar. Everyone in the parish will be saddened by this news, as I am, but also pleased for Mel and Nina as they approach retirement, and understanding and supportive of the decision they have taken. There will be a time and a place to formally thank Mel for his wonderful contribution to St John s. I would like to add here that, from my perspective, it has been marvellous working with Mel the past few years. His talent, enthusiasm, and affable and friendly nature, have all been much appreciated and admired by myself and the other clergy. We have worked together well as a team with a great spirit and mutual understanding. Everyone in the parish, and many who come and go from this place of worship, have been greatly blessed by Mel s gifts as a musician and choirmaster, as those gifts have greatly enhanced our worship and brought much glory to God. All at St John s wish Mel and Nina every blessing in the next part of their journey, as we look forward to his last few months with us.
