Worship March 4, 2018 10:30 a.m. Ou r Mission: Gro wing in Sp irit Living as D isciple s Se rving God s World Preparation for Worship Grant, O Lord, your protection, and in protection, strength, and in strength, understanding, and in understanding, knowledge, and in knowledge, the vision for justice, and in the vision for justice, the love of it, and in that love, the love of all that exists, and in the love of all that exists, the love of God, of God and all goodness. We Gather in God s Name Prelude Andante from the Violin Concerto Mendelssohn Ray Freeman, Organist Welcome and Announcements Passing of the Peace Leader: The peace of the Lord be with you. People: And also with you.

Song Cornerstone Praise Band Call to Worship One: Many: One: Many: Come and worship, all you who love and serve our God. God surrounds us with unfailing love, and answers us when we call. God cares for the humble and lowly, and never abandons those in need. Let us join our hearts in the worship of God. Hymn #307 God of Grace and God of Glory Prayer of Confession Wondrous God, we confess that at times our doubts and fears override our hope and faith. Forgive us when we lose sight of the joy of your love, and instead fall into despair and gloom. Lift up our spirits, Lord, and help us to remember the call to life lived fully now, not just the hope of resurrection for the future. We give thanks for your Son, Jesus the Christ, who continues to call us to new life, who continues to turn us around and upside down, who continues to break down the walls we build in our lives and in our relationships. Forgive us, restore us, and renew us. In your name, we pray. Amen. Assurance of Forgiveness One: The good news is that Christ calls us to new life and enables us to begin again and again and again and again. Friends, believe the good news of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! People: Thanks be to God. We Proclaim God s Word Anthem How Deep the Father s Love for Us Townend Chancel Choir Children s Message Children of any age are invited to the front for a time of worship together. Play n Worship and Bridges will be announced following the message. See Guest Information on page 7 for details. Please stand if you are able. Penny Newsome
