3 Please enjoy this small gift each day during the coming year as we work together to create a brighter future built on the values of our kupuna. Hawaii Reserves, Inc. A Land Management Company...wishes you a Mele Kalikimaka and a Happy New Year Our calendar focuses on values, voiced by our kupuna, that have sustained our community for many years and will help carry us into the future. Kupuna, in Hawaiian, commonly refers to our elders and ancestors, whom we respect for their sacrifices, life experience and wisdom; literally the word means standing at the spring or source. We honor our kupuna as we stand today on their achievements and continue to move forward. An example of this will be seen in the recycling of cement tiles from the former Laie Inn into the foundation of a new hotel on that property. We love our home with its rural nature, multiethnic diversity and common beliefs. Here, we care for each other. We pull together in tough times. We celebrate common events. We enjoy a sense of ohana and belonging, and are grateful our children are growing up in this environment. These are just some of the values we hope future generations continue to enjoy in this special place. Me ke aloha no Laie a me oukou a pau,...and our HRI ohana: R. Eric Beaver, President President s Council: R. Eric Beaver, Esq., President; Jace L.
