6 CONVENOR S CORNER De Colores, Broters and Sisters in Crist, Looking forward to As I write tis I am tinking about Cristmas less tan a week away, not focused on wrapped gifts under te tree, but te gift God gave us wrapped only in swaddling clotes. Awesome is te only descriptive word I can come up wit wen I tink tat God cared enoug to send te very best, to enter our world as He did; to model ow we are to live a meaningful, fulfilling life; to endure our pains, and to ten surrender His life for our sake. As if tat wasn t enoug, He demonstrated tat mortal life is not te end, but just te transition. Wat greater gift could we ever want?! Wen we tink of suc a gift, we are saddened to tink of all te people around us wo at one time or anoter accepted and acknowledged Jesus as teir Savior, but drifted away from a personal relationsip in te busyness of teir lives or some oter reason. Tey may feel someting lacking in teir lives and teir Cristian walk, but can t identify wat it is. If you re like most of our 4 t Day community, you know tat an Unidos weekend can be te catalyst to elp teir ead knowledge reac teir eart. In 2006, I ope you will take te opportunity to make te specific effort to make a friend, be a friend and bring a friend to a best ever weekend. Your curc s liaison can be of assistance in processing te paperwork, telling you te dates of te weekends and providing any guidance you need in approacing potential weekenders. Co-sponsoring weekenders can also be a rewarding experience. For tose of you wo elped make te November weekends a reality, we tank you. As you eard, if you attended one te clausuras in Rocester, tose weekends were life-canging for many of te weekenders. We especially appreciated te special support of te teams and 4 t Day community in rallying to sponsor weekenders tere, ten supporting tem wit prayers, palanca and presence. Update on te long-range task force. Tis team of dedicated men and women as met bi-weekly tis fall to construct structured questionnaires for extensive telepone surveys of council members, clergy and liaisons. Task force members, council members and volunteer liaisons are now involved in contacting a large random sampling of te clergy bot active and inactive in UEC -- and liaisons, to get feedback on a broad range of teir perceptions. Survey results will elp te task force formulate suggestions and draw up proposals tat sould provide significant guidance for te longrange growt and direction of our UEC movement. We are indebted to everyone involved in tis major endeavor. I pray you will continue to grow in your fait and reflect His love to oters. May 2006 be a special year for you and Unidos en Cristo. Serving Him togeter, Clark Duffey, Convenor cduffey@pressenter.com CLAUSURA ETIQUETTE Clausura attendance is limited to persons wo ave attended a Cursillo (UEC, VDC, Walk to Emmaus, etc.) weekend. Teens Encounter Crist (TEC) participants may also attend. It is inappropriate to bring cildren and infants because of te long worsip service, and because seeing cildren at te Clausura can be painful for weekenders wo are missing teir own cildren. Recorders, cameras and video cameras are not allowed at Clausuras. Cell pones and pagers sould be turned off or set on vibrate. Please remember tat we are guests of te ost curc, and tat we are entrusted wit te care of a large part of teir facility. Always treat teir ome wit care. 4 TH DAY MARKET Large-print songbooks ($20), Crist is Counting on You crosses ($5) and Renewal Guideline cards ($1) will be available at a table outside te sanctuary on Sunday, January 29, just prior to te evening serenade and during te early portion of te Clausura.
