The RAs will begin their racer s project and the GAs will be planning their bonfire for later on this month. Our children s choirs are beginning a brand new curriculum and will be preparing for performances in church in the upcoming months. Awana will start back up and we have several exciting nights like Pie-in-the-Face Night and Pajama Night where children will have the opportunity to earn extra Awana bucks to spend in the store! Please remember to check your children s calendar, the bulletin, and NETMA for more information on these children s events. I wish all of you a very blessed new year!
4 Music & Worship (Gary Powell) Global Mission Explosion JANUARY Augusta s Kroc Center Over the past 5 months, Sweetwater s pastor and staff, along with church leadership around the CSRA, have been a part of the planning of this exciting conference. Local, domestic, and international mission groups are coming together to make an impact for the Kingdom of God. Each church or organization was asked to invite a guest missionary that they would host for this event. Sweetwater s missionary couple will be Mircea & Maria Peștean from Romania. Mircea is the Executive President of Maranatha Missions a Baptist ministry comprised of 24 Pastors/Missionaries working in 34 churches & ministries. The Peșteans have hosted numerous Sweetwater members over the past 5 years on 7 trips and they are some of God s choicest servants. S W B C will host their own missions banquet on Friday, Jan. 7:00pm as an opportunity to meet & greet each other. Then, Mircea will be speaking in both AM services on Jan. 13th. Our evening service will be held at t h e Kroc Center that evening to kick-off the conference. ANNUAL AIKEN BAPTIST ASSOCIATION S ADULT CHOIR WORKSHOP January 26th Sweetwater Baptist Church 9:00AM-2:30PM Dr. Barry Combs, Choral Director from SENIOR ADULT News Senior Saints, be watching for upcoming Day Trips to exciting destinations, Mission Possibilities, as well as our Annual Spring North Greenville University will be our guest director. Nearly 125+ choir members from across the county come together for this wonderful time of fellowship and music ministry each January. The cost of the Retreat. Your senior adult leadership and I will be sitting down in the new year to plan some excursions that I know you will enjoy. If you have not gone with us in the past, you really should consider it. Laughter, Fun, and Enduring Friendships are just a sampling of the time we have travelling event includes 5 new pieces of music, as well as lunch. Being the host church, let s pack out our choir loft for this one, ok!?! Singing His Praises, Bro. Gary P.S. Sign-up has begun in the Choir Room together. So, let us do the driving and come-along for the ride. We always seek to keep the cost as reasonable as possible to allow everyone to participate.
