4 CHOIR REHEARSAL EVERY WEDNESDAY 6:00 TO 7:30 PM TEGA CAY BAPTIST Tega Cay Baptist team is off to a good start especially since it has been quite some time since TCBC had a team. Thank you to our church family for coming to cheer us on. The month of July games are twice a week. Check the church calendar for the dates and times so you can come and cheer us on with the other TCBC fans. Thanks for supporting your team. We had our first choir rehearsal on Wednesday, June 22 since April. Thank You choir for a great first practice! You sounded great and look forward to choir rehearsals planned. Plans are to have the choir back in the Sunday morning worship service within the next couple of weeks. Your presence is important to make the choir complete. If you know a Sunday you plan to be out, please mark the calendar that is in the back of the choir room. This helps when planning Sunday worship. The Choir has room for many more voices. If you feel that you would like to use your talent of singing, plan to attend our next rehearsal on Wednesday, July 6th at 6:00 pm at the church. If you need further information or have questions about the choir you can contact Randy Mabry by at rsmabry@yahoo.com.
5 TCBC Student Ministry How can you be a part of Youth Missions Week? We need students and adults to help out! During Youth Missions Week (July 25-29), our youth will work together on various mission projects within our own community! Pastor Matt and Pastor Adam are working together to organize this Missions Week; Matt will work with the students and Adam will organize the outreach activities. One project they ll be organizing is a VBS-type program called Second Mile. This children s program will be every day from noon-2pm at Steele Street Park in the Paradise area of Fort Mill. Our youth will be working that week all day every day Monday through Friday. If your student is up for such a commitment, please have them sign up with Pastor Adam by July 3 rd! If your student is unable to commit to the all-day-every-day schedule, but would still like to help out with Second Mile when they can, here are two great opportunities to do so: 1. Come to our summer work days every Thursday in July from 9am to 5pm at church. We ll be working on things to get us ready for Youth Missions Week. Lunch is provided. 2. Come to Second Mile July and help at this VBS like program. Pastor Adam has a separate sign up form for this option. We also need some adults to help with Youth Missions Week and Second Mile. If you d like to help out, please contact Pastor Adam for more information. UPCOMING EVENTS July 24-30, 2016 Youth Mission Week August 6, 2016 Catawba River Expedition September 11, 2016 EDGE Resumes Youth Catawba River Expedition Saturday August 6, 2016 Go to to get a copy of Catawba River Expedition s required release form and TCBC s parental authorization forms. 6 News from... CHILDREN S MINISTRY Thank you to Betty Simpson, Bonita Jones and Catherine Tullos! These ladies are our faithful substitutes who readily fill in so many Sundays when the permanent teachers and assistants are sick or out of town. You are an important piece of Sunday mornings at TCBC and we are blessed to have you serving in the Children's Ministry. Sunday School Volunteers Needed We have opportunities for our church family to serve in the Children's Ministry during the Sunday School hour (9:15am) in the following places Older Preschool Class: Assistant on Odd Months (Jan., March, May, July, Sept., Nov.) K/1st Grade Class: Assistant on Even Months (Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct., Dec.) 4th/5th Grade Class: Assistant on Even Months Substitutes for all ages/grades Sunday Night Live (SNL) Even though SNL is not meeting this summer, it is still on our minds...we have been busy making plans for the fall! We are really excited about our topic of study when SNL starts back up, "The Daniel Dare". We will be going through the entire book of Daniel and we encourage you and your children to go ahead and read through this book over the summer and get familiar with it; we will dig deeper into Daniel starting in September. Speaking of "digging", we are planning to kick off SNL on Sunday, September 11 with a family event called "The Big Dig"...more details to come on that later this summer. Vacation Bible School Wrap-up: What an amazing week we just finished up at Cave Quest VBS! We had an amazing turn out of children and volunteers each evening. The word of God was taught and fun was had by all each night. Thank you so much to Cynthia Keen for directing another awesome VBS this summer! Special thanks goes to each and every person who helped before, during and after VBS with decorations, set-up, clean up, organizing, stuffing, etc. and thank you to those who volunteered each night on stage at the opening and closing, as crew leaders, stations leaders, nurses, substitutes, helpers, bus drivers and the list goes on. We appreciate you allowing God to use your talents and gifts to share His message...that He is the Light of the World! Parents' Night Out/Service Project for Children Thank you to Andy Hanschu, Bonita Jones, John Jones, Matt Williams and Melissa Burgess for serving at this event in June. We had a great time working on two service projects, one for Wellmore in Fort Mill and one for Nueva Esperanza in Honduras. We enjoyed pizza and some fun games outside. It was a great time of fellowship with some very special children that God has blessed our church family with. Check out the pictures and see just how much fun we had!
7 Mr. John it s my time to play!!! Wait Pastor Matt I can help you! You may get hurt!
8 Many thanks Thank you to Catherine Tullos for organizing a wonderful Father's Day event called Donuts with Dads. The children and their fathers had a great time of fellowship before Sunday school on Father's Day. Thank you to Gina Johnson for assisting Catherine with this annual event. Strange visitors?? Odd don t you think!!
