1 The Monthly Newsletter of The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club Carolyn Harwick: From The President s Desk MAY 2018 At the meeting this month we will be starting sign up for the certification program. This is a great opportunity for our club and I hope that each and every one of you will take part and get certified. This is the first step in the process to try to make changes for detecting in areas that have restrictions. April Showers bring May flowers! It s hard to believe that it is May already. On May 13, 2018 we will be celebrating Mother s Day. I would like to say Happy Mother s Day to all of our mothers in the club. Memorial Day is on May 28 th. Please take some time to remember all of those who fought and died defending our rights and freedoms. Without these individuals, who knows how things would have turned out for our nation. It is hard to believe that the 6 th Annual Sunshine Silver and Relic Hunt has passed. We had over 160 hunters this year. We could not have done it without all of our volunteers. Thank you to ALL of you who helped make it a huge success. We will be right back at it next year on April 6, We have many of the sponsors and all the vendors on board for our next run. We have had numerous people who have located or attempted to locate lost items for members of the community. Thank you for representing our club with your services. If you searched for a missing item, please let me know so that we can recognize it at the meeting. We will have a club hunt on May 19 th. All of the details will be provided at the meeting. I ll see you at the next meeting! Carolyn
