2 Page 2 December 2017-January 2018 Holiday Greetings To All! Well, here I am at my computer writing my final Presidents Letter. I can t believe how quickly the time has gone. The work we started this year, By-Law review, budget review, interest in starting up an evening Guild meeting to name a few, will continue into next year. I look forward to the continued progress to help sustain our Guild into the future. I d like to thank Bev Spellbring for offering to host the Christmas Gathering in her beautiful home for us. I hope to see as many Guild members there as possible. It s going to be a very fun and festive celebration. I d also like to thank the Board and all committee Chairs for their continued support and hard work this past year. You are amazing!!! And, last but not least, thank you Cheryl Hough, for your support and help with the Artifacts showing! I ve enjoyed being President and hope I have in some way made a positive difference in the Guild. I wish you all a Blessed and Joyous Christmas and may your New Year be filled with God s bountiful Blessings! Sincerely, Deb Cutler I am looking forward to serving you as President. Bev Spellbring s son suffered a stroke yesterday, 15 November 2017, this event could impact some future events. Minutes from 14 September 2017 read by Ellen Vandruff, Secretary. Deb Cuttler motioned to approve 2 nd by Connie Polzin, approved by group as read. Kim Duke- Treasurer report- Down $1000 from past, but quilt show at Fairground has been paid already. Deb Cuttler motioned to approve and 2 nd by Connie Polzin, approved by group. Committee Report: Orleen Barber- Programs- Nothing new Cathy Hale- $3000 on quilt Trish Mull won quilt. More volunteers are needed in the future to sell tickets. Deb has some ideas for using youth volunteers that need service hours. More venues are needed to hang the quilt next year; more exposure is needed in the future. Shellie Purcell- museum project- has a pull page of volunteers. She will get with the museum to find out specifics. Patty Hanscom-nothing Connie Polzin- has passed off membership stuff Kim Duke-acquired new membership cards Pamela Miller- quilt show notebook is ready to pass off to Deb Cuttler for Need to focus on better advertising and more volunteers for Deb Cuttler-2018 Quilt show. Very impressed with county preparations. Social media is the key to promoting the quilt show in Deb is considering vinyl signs to help in promotion. Already starting to work on advertising. Dannette is working on the quilt for next year. Deb s Bee will do ribbons. Would like to do a 1 st responder s section, like the quilts of honor, year before last. Deb Cuttler motioned to make Over the Top the theme for 2018 quilt show. Approved by Pamela Miller, 2 nd by Cathy Hale. Deb Cuttler motioned to adjourn 2 nd by Ellen and approved by group.
