As I write, there are portions of our country that are experiencing an extreme winter storm. Moline and Rockford, Illinois set record lows of 33 below zero and 30 below zero respectfully. Chicago was spared as the temperature there only registered at 21 below zero! These are unimaginable temperatures for a Florida native as well as a reason why our community has an influx of seasonal residence every year. Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 about the seasons we experience. He begins by writing, There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heaven. He then goes on to describe the different activities and seasons of life. As I serve in the role of Transitional Pastor I have come to realize that we are in a season where prayer needs to be our emphasis. Simply stated, this is A Time to Pray. 2 Chronicles 7:14 gives us this charge, If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land. The impact of our ministry at White Chapel and Warner Christian Academy is much deeper than most of us probably realize. Therefore it stands to reason that the enemy would see this time of transition as a time where we would be weak and vulnerable. In all seasons prayer must be the foundation on which we stand. In seasons of transition it is even more imperative that we pray. I would like to ask that you make a commitment to pray for this ministry and the leadership. Many decisions will be made over the next weeks and months that will impact for years to come. Sunday, February 10 we will be having a Prayer emphasis as part of our worship service. Then on Tuesday, February 12, we will be joining other Christian Schools in a day of prayer. I ask you to join the leadership and boards in this season of prayer. I hope that you will make it a priority to come and pray together as a church family. I would also like to share that on Sunday, February 24, the Board of Elders will be holding an Information Gathering in Berquist Chapel following our morning worship service. A team is heading back to the Dominican Republic this summer. An informational meeting will be held Sunday February 10th after service in the Berquist Chapel. Can t make it and would like info.
