I was so touched to take part in feeding these precious children with actual sponsors and see the work of Christ. It was amazing and very touching to my heart. My daughter, Tiffany who is only 5 years old made a box with some of these children s faces she glued to and cut a hole for her weekly allowance. She for several months filled it and we recently mailed it to Touch of Life. I share this story with you because it deeply touched me personally that my daughter had the care for the poor. 4 Honduras s Feeding Center See the video about this project Would you believe we are now preparing to build our very first feeding center? With your help we began feeding children in Cantaranas, Honduras just last year. We rented a house and filled it each day at lunch, and then as more of you began to sponsor children we filled it for two shifts and now for three. We are literally cramming in over 200 children each day and it is becoming an impossible task. There is just not enough room. My plan was to eventually buy property and build a center that would be able to hold up to 300 kids at a time and have room in it for the storage, the kitchen and a small clinic; as well as a shaded playground area for the children to have a safe place to play. (I don t know of a single playground in the entire country other than at McDonalds). I had no idea that the blessings of the Lord would be so great that we would have to do this in our first year! Jon Nelms, Founder/Chairman As we looked for such a place, we were able to find only one suitable piece of land inside the little town and it is only about two blocks away from our current rented facility. The cost for the 5000 square yards was $52,000. This past March, Pastor Jim Nagey of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Gilbert, WV came to visit us with three of his church members. (They are currently supporting more than 50 children and wanted to do something big to help us as if they had not already done enough!) Would you believe me if I told you they have given us a check for $52,000 to purchase the land? Well, they did! It s a beautiful property with huge mango trees and even some cashew trees. All they ask is that we try to get others to help with the construction costs so they don t have to bear the burden alone. God has miraculously given us a property big enough for the playground, feeding center and eventually an expanded clinic, a 15 room guest center for those of you who come down on Visionary Trips and even space to have a grade school and Bible College. (see our phase chart on the next page). As I said, the land is bought and paid for. Now we need to build the center as quickly as possible. We have an estimated cost of only $25,000 to build the 300 seat cafeteria with a kitchen, small clinic, storage and platform area for use during the daily Bible stories and for evangelistic services. To do this, I need your help and I know many of you will be glad to give it. Some have already pledged to help and nearly $1000 has already arrived. If you could give just $100 for each child you support, that would pay for it. Can you imagine how easy this should be? I know some of you cannot give that much but others could give extra to fill your deficit. Of course, whatever you give is tax deductible and it is a gift that will last beyond your lifetime and mine. Over the decades to come, tens of thousands will be fed and come to Christ in this center. Please help us with a generous gift if you can, as quickly as you can. What s next? Our next feeding center will begin Lord willing, in August. It is in a little church at the top of a mountain that is only accessible by horses. There are only about 50 children living there so we should not have a need to build a feeding center for them, but if we do, it will be very, very small and house only the center and a clinic. 6 For over a year, I have been working with several Christian organizations and non-profits in order to network and to develop relationships. This is another ministry that I want to focus on them and their impact around the world. I currently have been working with the Finial Frontiers Foundation at link The Final Frontiers Foundation, Inc., whose effective purpose is to take the Gospel to the more than 3 billion souls who have never before heard the message of the Good News! Currently they are ministering in more than seventy-three countries on five continents. These are countries and peoples primarily closed to traditional missionary outreach, but open to them because of our unique method of missions. Since 1986 Final Frontiers has led the way in the support of national preachers who are starting new churches in areas that are primarily closed to foreign missionaries. Believing that they can more effectively reach their own people for Christ, we began to support them in doing so for around $1 a day (go to for more information). These men have now started more than 24,000 new churches that upon conception, average about 30 new converts each. They believe that the training and subsidizing of national preachers is the most efficient and effective method of global evangelism. Thus, they seek to raise prayer and financial support from believers in America, for God's servants abroad, who are actively involved in church planning and discipleship. All those subsidized thru this foundation are involved in church planting. Their various outreach ministries include Bible translation, radio broadcasting, camps, Bible schools, outdoor and film evangelism, educational and health programs, blind and leper ministries, orphan centers and refugee ministries. 7 link below: Last January, I had the privilege to have traveled with the founder of Finial Frontiers Foundation Jon Nelms and his son Daniel to the Dominican Republic. We planed to visit Haiti, but because of instability were not able to make that trip to visit churches in that region. We did however visit several churches in the Dominican Republic and did a very successful outreach event. We had over six hundred first time visitors to this local church by giving hotdogs to first time visitors. We cooked and served them in about two hours and preached the Gospel message to them.
