She was born February 1, 1923 in Scotland, daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Jane (McPherson) Annan. Private family funeral services will take place with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar Saginaw St - Reese (989) BANKS, Sidney Jason Of Burton, age 54, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the, 1225 West Hill Road. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 12-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Banks was born in Flint, Michigan on February 11, 1956 the son of Jason and Florence Banks. He lived in Burton all of his adult life. On May 31, 1991 he married Susan Elizabeth McCormick in Flint. He served in the US Marine Corps. Mr. Banks worked production for General Motors at AC Delphi for 30 years and was a member of UAW Local #659 for the last 2 years. Sidney is survived by his wife Susan; daughters, Shannon Lee- Ann Banks, Christine Elizabeth and husband Douglas Hedrick; he also leaves behind his siblings, Steven Banks (Jackie), Faith (Michael) Phillips, Robert Banks (Willa) and Thomas Banks; sister, Erthel Hoats; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James. BLOSS, Franklin Robert "O Honey Bear"- Of Clio, age 91, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Mt. Morris Church of Christ, 1262 South St., Mt. Morris. Pastor Jim Watson and Elder Garfield Cooper officiating. Burial at Thetford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 12-8 p.m. He will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Franklin was born October 18, 1919 in Swartz Creek to the late Milo and Maggie (Bookham) Bloss. He married Marion McCrossen on November 17, Mr. Bloss served in the US Army during WW II. He was a farmer, then worked at GM several years. He was active in the Boy Scouts and loved being a clown, going to schools and hospitals. He was an active member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Mr. Bloss owned and operated a hardware store for 42 years. Surviving are: wife. Marion; five children, Jeannette (Bob) Laugavitz, Sharon Craglow, Dean (Helen) Bloss, Barbara (Jim) Shoens and Kevin (Beverly) Bloss; 13 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Waitha (Wayne) Whitmer; sister-inlaw, Mary Bloss; nieces, nephews and many friends. KERR, John Paul - Age 63, of Royal Oak, formerly of Flushing, died Saturday, December 18, Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Michigan Veterans Foundation, 2770 Park Ave., Detroit, MI John was born February 5, 1947 in Lima, Ohio, the son of John Russell and Arnita Ruth (Baier) Kerr. He was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Kerr worked for local non-profit organizations, including Insight for 21 years. John recently began work for the VA in Detroit with homeless veterans, a job he truly loved. He was a former member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak. His greatest love was softball, which included his team at Alma College and the Bad News Bears, a team he sponsored and coached. Surviving are: wife, Mary; daughter, Courtney Kerr Robinson and husband Earle of Flint; grandson, Andrew; sister, Ronda Kerr Showalter and husband Graham of Lewisburg, PA; step-children, Dwight Moore, Timothy Moore and Julie Vozar; best friend, Henry Tidwell; friends, Janice Hill-Wardwell, Sandee Bacha and Charlene Drown. Mr. Leoni was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 19, He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, where he excelled in football, wrestling, track and field. He attended the University of Detroit on a football scholarship and graduated with a Degree in Business Administration. He married Joanne Rogers in April 26, 1952, moving to Flint, Michigan and together they had 10 children in their first 11 years of marriage. He was a long time member and supporter of St. John Vianney, St. Pius and Holy Family Catholic Churches; supported Powers Catholic High School, University of Detroit and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Mr. Leoni was a member of the Victors Club, Presidents Club, Fr. Solanus Guild, Luke M. Powers High School Hall of Fame and Nicholas Leoni Research Endowment Fund. He was also a member of the Titan Club and President of Michigan Road Builders in Legatus Member, Philharmonic Naples, Florida, FIA and FIM and a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus Naples, Florida. Mr. Leoni was a long time business entrepreneur involved in many businesses, to include Landfills, Sand and Gravel, Demolition, Site Development, Tunneling, Roads, Paving and Trucking. He founded Citizens Disposal and operated the C.J. Rogers Companies, for years one of the largest employers in the Flint area. He was a remarkable man with great vision and remained optimistic at all times. He always lived by the following quote, The Road to Success is always under construction. MOORE, Esther Juanita (Ware) - age 83, of Flint Twp., passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint, MI with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Juanita was born January 2, 1927 in Perkins, MO, the youngest of 6 children to the late Joseph and Fanny (Forrester) Ware. The family later moved to Flint. Juanita graduated from Flint Central High School. On October 2, 1948 Juanita married Edward Moore at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton. They moved to Flint Twp. where they lived for 60 plus years. Born to this union were children: Janice (Tom) Warner, Mary (Jim) Nicolai, Robert, Diane (late Dennis) Provost and Michael. There are 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sisters, Gladys Ware, Virgie Dowler, Judy DeNoma, Christina Dillinger, Joe Ware, Jr.; son-in-law, Dennis Provost; inlaws, Ed and Rhea Moore.
