2 DUMMELDINGER, Betty J. 83, of Essexville, formerly of Munger, joined her husband in death, Tuesday afternoon, December 22, 2010 at Bay Shores in Bay City. She was born May 26, 1927 in Milbrook, Michigan, daughter of the late Harry and Flossie (Beemer) Sherman and was raised by her adoptive parents, Rudolph and Amelia Ortner. On August 19, 1944 she was married to August F. Gust Dummeldinger in the St. Michael s Lutheran Church Parsonage in Richville. Together they shared sixty-six years of marriage. She and Gust farmed all of their lives in the Munger area and had spent the last five years of their lives together at the Pine View Apartments in Essexville. He predeceased her October 29, Betty enjoyed various jobs she undertook, but dearest to her heart was working as a Teachers Aid at the Reese Elementary School. She was a member of the Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church in Munger, its Ladies Aid and volunteered her time at the Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth. She enjoyed euchre, bingo and crocheting and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Ron and Nancy Dummeldinger of Saginaw; Judy and Dwight Dykman of Tawas City; Denise and Ted Felske of Munger; and Kathy and Kenny Wilson of Tawas City; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Michelle Dummeldinger of Chicago, IL.; Andrea Dykman of Frankenmuth; Christina Dykman of Saginaw; Todd and Megan Felske of Midland; Jeremy and Jody Wilson of Battle Creek; and Jennifer and Jason Head of Lexington, KY.; four great-grandchildren, Markos Azucar, Tanner and Brooklyn Felske, and Owen Dummeldinger, two brothers, Earl Browers and his wife Ruth of Coloma; Philip Curtiss and his wife Nelda of Gaylord; and her sister, Madonna Anton of Williamston. Also surviving are her half sisters, Ella Bierlein, Erna Trombley, and Verna Trombley. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Emma Larner-Clark, Irene Strayer, Cleo Browers, John Sherman, Harry Sherman Jr., Maxine Kennedy, her half brother and sister, Florence List and Roy Schmandt and her stepsister, Hildegard Oeder. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from the Trinity- St. James Lutheran Church in Munger. Rev. Theodore E. Voll will officiate with committal services to follow in the Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Mrs. Dummeldinger s family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. Reese on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Of Flint, age 53, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Henry Ford Hospital. Morris, Donald and wife Theresa Faith of Swartz Creek. KOTZ, Philip W. - of Otisville, MI, formerly of New Orleans, LA, age 72, passed away December 21, 2010 at St. Mary s Medical Center, Saginaw. A Funeral Service will be Proudly Serving Our Community held 11:00 am Monday, December 27, 2010 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Shanna Hensley officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 am Monday. Philip was born in New Orleans, LA on February 23, 1938, son of the late William and Alice (Amend) Kotz. He married Diana K. Hobbs on May 1, 1974 in San Diego, CA. Philip retired from the U. S. Navy in He then worked for the VA Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. Philip was also employed at LA Technical College and Green Thumb Experience where he represented citizens, 55 and over, as a lobbyist in Washington, DC. He was a member of American Legion Post # 225 in Otisville, MI. Philip is survived by his wife, Diana; three children; five grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; brother, Ronald E. (Roberta) Kotz and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Hayes of San Diego, CA. Please share your thoughts with the family at SABRIE, W. Jacques, 64 of Midland died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of the late William Sabrie and Mildred (Shelton) Sabrie. Jacques had been employed as a firefighter with the City of Midland retiring in January Upon retirement, Jacques lived his life to the fullest; hot air balloons and hot rods were always his passion and he continued to enjoy them. He is survived by his children: William Jacques (Kari) Sabrie of Waterloo IL, Michael Guy Sabrie of Midland, and Heather Jean (Tod) Tyler of Camp Hill PA, and their mother Elaine (Blasy) Sabrie of Chicago IL; grandchildren, Tiaja, Savvy, Ashton, Jonah and Ben. Jacques is also survived by his mother Mildred Sabrie of Fisherville KY, brother Bobby (Judy) Sabrie of LaGrange KY, sister Debbie (Bobby) Cunigan of Fisherville KY and their children, his special nephews, Cole and Clay. On December 28, 1951 she married James Wittbrodt in Flint and together raised 2 daughters. Mrs. Wittbrodt was a member of Daughters of Isabella and loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Tina (Rusty) Schroeder of Durand, JoAnne (Randy) Robinson of Gaines; 3 grandchildren: Andrew Robinson, Rachel Robinson, Carl Schroeder; sister, Yvonne Stevens of Flint as well as many nieces and nephews. He served from February 1943 until his discharge in 1945 and was honored with three European Theater Ribbons with three Bronze Battle Stars. He was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle. Mr. Ziel owned and operated several service stations in the Flint area from 1947 to He was then employed, as a salesman, at Chinonis Chrysler Proudly Serving Our Community from 1977 to After he retired, he worked part-time at ABC Chauffer, Inc. as a dispatcher until He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy; two wonderful daughters, Deborah and husband David Verla of Clarkston, Sharon of Swartz Creek and former son-in-law, Clifford Radatz of St. Clair; four wonderful grandchildren, Laurie and Daniel Radatz, Adrianne and Shawn Verla; three step-grandchildren, Cary, Kim and David; six step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Griffith of Flint, Margie and husband Dave Caster of Florida, Elsie and husband Toni Hajek of Petoskey; brother, Harvie and wife Susan of Florida; sister-inlaw, Pat; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cynthia Ann; granddaughter, Amanda Lee Verla; parents, Gustav and Alma; sister, Wilma Sacchetti; three brothers, Bobby, Lester and Ralph; father, and mother-in-law, Columbus and Rhoda Thacker; brother-in-law, Joe Sacchetti; sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Mildred Ziel. ZIMBLER, Israel Charles "Red" - Age 86, of Linden, died Wednesday, December 22, Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, December 27, 2010 at, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten will officiate. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. A light lunch will follow the graveside service at the funeral home. Israel was born February 17, 1924 in New York City, the son of Oscar and Rose (Flacks) Zimbler. He was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are: wife, Hilda; son, Larry (Mary) Zimbler of Linden; grandchildren, Mitchel, Alyson and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lily; brothers, Irving (Edythe) Zimbler, Jack (Susan) Zimbler.
