3 The Colby UMC third and fourth graders will be using the Spark Bible (NRSV) for their Sunday School class this year. The Bibles will be displayed in Fellowship Hall. We invite you to come and autograph or write a personal message in the Bibles. It is a way to show support and encouragement for our Bible learners. The Bibles will be in Fellowship Hall on September 2 and 9. Psalty Singers will be starting up with Sunday School on September 9! All kids, preschool through 4 th grade, are invited to join in the musical fun! The kids will meet in the sanctuary at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday to practice their songs. Psalty Singers usually performs each month on the 3 rd Sunday. Hope to see all the kids there! Plans are in the works for Colby UMC Youth Group! Be watching for details soon! If you would like to be a part of learning more about Vincent Donovan's book Christianity Rediscovered, please indicate if you want to be a part of the online learning community or the in-person learning community. Contact the church office! We won't start either until mid-september. The office can order the book. It's approximately $20 with shipping. If that's a hardship, see Pastor Patrick. Beatitudes from the Back Side. Using his method of approaching Bible passages from an unusual angle or a unique starting point, J. llsworth Kalas presents new insight into the beatitudes, Jesus blessings from the Sermon on the Mount. Adult Sunday School in the church library begins September 9 th at 9:00. If you would like to join the class, please sign up in the narthex or vickibrown460@gmail.com so we will have enough books. The Women s Sunday School Class will be discussing the book Your Sacred Yes. The class will start class on Sunday, September 9. All women are invited to join us in the classroom at the back of Fellowship Hall at 9:00 a.m. every Sunday.

4 Wear, or bring, your walking shoes to church on September 23! We will walk the walking trails and/or in the church following our worship time together. All are welcome to join in the fun!! The FORWARD IN UNITY Process Team of the Great Plains Conference invites you to learn more about the options shared by the Commission on a Way Forward, a group of 32 people who have worked to preserve unity within the denomination despite differences over human sexuality. Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr. is leading town hall meetings in all 17 districts leading up to the special session of General Conference in February 2019 in St. Louis. ach meeting will feature details of three proposals and will provide an opportunity for discussion.
