1 FBC eblast December 6, If you want to know whether you re a leader, just look over your shoulder. If nobody s back there following, you re not a leader. I ve heard that old adage for years in classes, conferences, and discussions on leadership. I understand the point; however, it seems to me that people like Jeremiah and the Apostle Paul had numerous days when they could look over their shoulders and find nobody. Even Jesus had days like that one weekend in particular. Does that mean they weren t really being leaders at the time? If you want to lead, focus on keeping Jesus in front of you and don t worry about who s behind you. Be more concerned with being right with Him than being popular with people, and one day you might be surprised to find out who He used you to influence, even when you thought nobody was back there. Remember that other old adage: the only applause we re to seek should come from a pair of nail-scarred hands. This Sunday the Adult Choir will present their Christmas program in the morning worship service. In the evening we ll continue our study of Malachi, as we look to 1: 6 14 and consider how we can worship God in a way that genuinely honors Him. Hint: it goes beyond sitting through a service! It does, however, include attending a service, so we ll be looking for you this Sunday Bro. Dean This Sunday morning the Adult Choir presents The Christmas Light: A Cantata With a blend of classic carols and rich new songs, this worship cantata moves the service from darkness to light, vividly illustrating the hope of Christmas through music! 1 P a g e
