Let us honor and praise Him today with that same joyful spirit. Hebrews 4:16 Congratulations to Merle Bielema who is celebrating his 86th birthday today. Darrell Tiesman, age 50, of Washington Illinois passed away suddenly on March 17th. Darrell is the son of Harlan and Gen Tiesman, brother of Darla Birks, and nephew of Bill and Betty Schaver. The funeral was Thursday. Darrell leaves behind his wife Barbie, sons Nathan and Adam, and daughter Kara. We offer our deepest condolences to Harlan and Gen, to Darla, and to Bill and Betty. Please know that the congregation supports you with love and prayer. As Christians, we are certain of a better life in eternity, but the pain of loss is still great. We pray that the Holy Spirit blesses the family with comfort, understanding, strength, and hope.

3 Henry Klavenga, 94, passed away Wednesday at Harbor Crest. Henry is the brother of Clara Klavenga. Let us support Clara and the family with our Christian love. We pray that God will sustain them in their sorrow, comfort them in their loss, and affirm in them the knowledge that Christ has conquered the grave for us. Dorothy Salverda is in skilled care at Mercy South for therapy. The results from all three congregations are now being tabulated. There were eleven returned for our church, sixteen at Morrison, and ten at Bethel. UPCOMING CHANGES Beginning April 8th, we will be roping off the four rear pews on the north side of the sanctuary. The objective is to move people closer to the service providers so that there is a greater connection. It will also help with the views given our shutins through the worship service DVD s. South side seating will remain the same to best accommodate those using the arm chairs in the rear. Please embrace this change and give it a chance. FUNDRAISER: Our next fundraiser will be working at the tree farm :) Bill plans to plant trees on March 31! If you are going on SERVE please plan on helping! Fundraisers like this help make the cost of SERVE very reasonable for you! We are making plans for SERVE We will be going to Brookside in Grand Rapids in July 14-21st. In making arrangements for transportation, each minivan rental is now around $1,000 to rent. We are asking if anyone has a minivan we could borrow for the week. It will detailed before it is returned. We are leaving July 14th and returning on the 21st. Please talk with Rollie or Jeff if you can help YG!

5 CHURCH NEWS Easter Sunday Invite friends and family to join us to celebrate Christ s victory over sin and death on Easter Sunday. We will be serving coffee and treats before the Easter Service. There will be no coffee hour after the service. Janitor Needed - Beginning June 1 st, we will be in need of an inside janitor for the church. Anyone interested should contact a building committee member or a council member for more details and a job description. COMMUNITY NEWS Wild Winter Wednesdays are held at the Fulton Windmill Cultural Center, th Ave. Fulton from 9-11 a.m. This Wednesday, March 28, the program will be on, Spring Forward: Getting your garden ready for Spring by Herb & Deb Kuehl. Handel s Messiah Concert will be presented at St. Peter s Lutheran Church in Morrison on Sunday, March 25, at 7 p.m. The church is located at 601 N. Jackson in Morrison. A free will offering will be received. Good Friday The Passion Experience a family friendly walk-through experience of the last days of Jesus! Join us on Friday, March 30 th at Evangelical Free Church, th Ave. N. Clinton, IA. Come anytime between 6-8 p.m. Benefit For Brayden 12-year old son of Roger & Melissa Houzenga from Morrison. The benefit will be on Sunday, April 8 at 6 p.m. at Spring Valley Reformed Church. The Trinity Quartet and others will provide a concert, there will also be a Bake Sale and a Silent Auction with several gift baskets and other items. More information is on the bulletin board. Walk for Life The Pregnancy Center in Clinton, Iowa is holding A Walk For Life which will be held on April 21 st, 2018 at the Clinton Band shell. Walk registration starts at 8:15 and the Walk is at 9 a.m. Registration/Sponsor Pledge forms are on the shelf in the narthex for you to take.
