2 My Brother, From the East It s a warm sunny day. In the first part of November. The secretary and I are cruising the back country on our Harleys. Reflecting on the past year I am reminded of what masonry is all about. It s not just what we do for each other. It s what we do with each other, a camaraderie of sorts. That s what makes us who we are. When I first came to Cannon Lodge 2 years ago I knew a lot of the members as acquaintance brothers. (Brothers I knew through district activities). Through spending time with you all I have become close friends with many of you. A bond that will never be broken. As I say farewell to you as the Worshipful Master, rest assured you will be left in very capable hands. If the new Worshipful Master keeps the agenda he has proposed we should have a busy year and I will be there with you all to see it thru. Thank you my brothers for all you do Fraternally yours, RW Ronald Menear In case of sickness or distress, please contact the Worshipful Master, Wardens or Secretary. Please notify the Secretary of any change of address. Nominations for officer positions 2018 Worshipful Master Anthony P. Stelacio Senior Warden Robert A. Grace. PJGD Junior Warden Greg R. Berman is the 2016 UGLE s Prestonian Lecturer. In continuation of our celebration of the 300 th anniversary of the founding of the premier Grand Lodge in England, Bro. Berman will explore the evolution of Freemasonry from the mid-fourteenth century through to the creation of the first Grand Lodge in Bro. Berman challenges old Masonic myths, explains the interconnections between Freemasonry, Grand Lodge and Britain's new Hanoverian government, and outlines how and why its leaders positioned the Craft as a bastion against the Jacobite followers of James Stuart - 'the king over the water'. From New York: R.W. Piers Vaughan The Journey in Esoteric Societies R.W. Vaughan is a Mason of 40 years' standing and has served in various leadership positions in the Fraternity. A few years ago he decided to use the skills acquired lecturing around the United States and across the world and began a new career in his retirement as an author. His first project was a new Royal Arch Monitor called the Capitular Development Course, now used across the States and several other countries. His next endeavor was Renaissance Man & Mason, a collection of talks given over the past 20 years. Most recently he has published a translation of Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin's book Of Errors & Truth. His lecture is entitled The Journey in Esoteric Societies. From New Jersey: R.W. Michael S. Neuberger 12 Guilty Men: A lesson in repentance R.W. Neuberger is the current Grand Historian of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey. R.W. Neuberger is an outstanding speaker who travels around the state presenting various thought provoking lectures on Masonic philosophies and ideas. His lecture entitled 12 guilty Men, a lesson in repentance will focus on the guilt of the 12 walking craftsmen. What was their crime? Who are the ruffians that they seek? Can repentance wash away the stain of sin? Is there such a thing as being beyond redemption? How do the three monotheistic faiths practice repentance? From Massachusetts: Sis. Michelle Snyder Symbology: Leadership & Power Symbologist Michelle Snyder and White Knight Studio present: Symbology: Leadership and Power, a unique and enlightening presentation on the mysterious world of symbols. Humankind attaches associations to objects such as a crown and scepter, a gavel, or a prophet s staff. Depictions of powerful or divine persons, whether in religious iconography or cultural imagery, include attributes - objects which help to identify the person or their status. These symbols of power and leadership have developed over millennia and evolve with the cultures that use them. When we follow these symbols back in context of time and place, their origins reveal to us meanings long forgotten. For More Information, Please Contact: R.W. Mohamad A.
