2 Bible Verses This should be cut out as one piece and folded into an envelope to store your verse cards. Fold up the blank bottom and then fold back the side flaps and glue them to the back of the blank flap. Collect the verse cards and place in the envelope on your lapbook.

3 Chapter 1 Proverbs 6:6 *Lapbook Piece Read/discuss/memorize/copy Proverbs 6:6-11 Gabe s mother is described as ant in an apron. What does that tell us about her? All of the Bible lapbook pieces are found toward the back of this collection in order to save on paper. I figured if you are going to make one of the Bible cards, you would make them all, so I put as many on one sheet as I could. Use the verse lapbook pieces to copy the verses and/or answer the questions posed. Chapter 3 Revelation 3:20 *Lapbook piece Read/copy/memorize/discuss Revelations 3: The King invites Gabe to sup with him whenever he would like. How is that similar to the invitation given in Revelation 3:20. Look carefully at Revelation chapter 3. Who is Jesus addressing? Lapbook piece can be found in the back of this collection. Chapter 4 Romans 12:1 *Lapbook piece Discuss the idea of sacrificing in order to serve the King. Here are some Scriptures to help you out. Romans 12:1, Matthew 16:24, Luke 18:18-30 The lapbook piece, Bible verse card, is in the back of this collection. Chapter 5 Psalm 91:9-10 *Lapbook piece Read/discuss/memorize/copy Psalm 91. Gabe s family was protected from the storm. Can we feel safe? The lapbook piece can be found in the back of this collection. Chapter 6 In the book the church of today as a whole is represented by the family. Gabe is the remnant figure who hasn t bowed the knee to Baal (Romans 11:4). Who is giving Gabe, Father and Angela a hard time? Who persecuted Jesus? Discuss why persecution came from within his own religion? Does this happen today among Christians? Chapter 7 Matthew 6:12 *Lapbook piece Read/Discuss/ Memorize Matthew 7:12. How does the golden rule sum up the law? Chapter 9 Hebrews 12:11 *Lapbook piece Read/discuss/memorize Hebrews 12:4-11 and Jeremiah 14:1-12 How are the two passages related? How does it relate to the story? How do you see this played out in our world and in your life?

4 Chapter 5 Bible How does God use dreams? Read about two dreaming Josephs in the Bible one Old Testament, one New Testament. How did God use dreams in their cases? Can you think of other dreamers in the Bible? Did God use their dreams in the same ways?

Philippians 3:20 *Lapbook piece Read/memorize/copy/discuss Philippians 3:20, Hebrews 11:13-14, 1 Peter 2:11, Ephesians 2:19 How are we strangers on earth? What country do we Christians hold our citizenship in? What are Father and Percy and the others trying to defend? What should we be defending? Chapter 15 Luke 6:27 *Lapbook piece Read/discuss/copy/memorize Luke 6:27-26 Discuss how these verses relate to the book. How do these verses relate to your life? Do these verses relate to those under oppressive governments? The lapbook piece is found in the back of this collection. Chapter 17 Read Stephen s story in Acts 6 and 7 for encouragement as to what it s like to be a martyr. Chapter 18 Read Acts 16:25. What did Gabe see on the prisoner s faces? How is that similar to Paul and Silas in prison? How is that possible? Read Matthew 25: How does this passage relate to the story? What can you do for people imprisoned for the gospel? Go to Voice of the Martyr online and learn about those imprisoned for their faith. Is gossip really a serious sin? Read Romans 1:28-32.

6 Chapter 19 End times timeline *Lapbook piece on the next page Here s a timeline list of end times verses. Make a timeline using the Scriptures below. Read the Scriptures and write on the piece the parallels in the book. Revelation 6:3-8 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Revelation 13:16-17 Revelation 6: Corinthians 15:51-54 Chapter 31 Finish the timeline from chapter nineteen.

ONLY CUT TO THE MIDDLE LINE. It will be one piece with five flaps. You can attach it long, as it is, or you can fold it accordion style (like you are folding a fan) and attach only the back of Matthew

8 Chapter 21 Colossians 3:13 *Lapbook piece Read/discuss/copy/memorize Colossians 3:13. How does this verse relate to the story? Could you forgive someone responsible for killing a member of your family? What makes it so they can forgive? Chapter 23 This chapter talks about Psalm 91 which was the Bible portion for chapter 5. If you didn t do it then, go back now and do that Bible lesson. For this chapter discuss the mark. Read these verses. Is it significant if we take the mark or not? Revelation 14:11 and Revelation 20:4 There s a reason I don t have anyone forced to take the mark against his will. Because I believe the verses above show us that taking the mark means damnation, I don t believe someone can be forced to take it, since we are promised no one can steal our salvation (John 10:28). I didn t want to ignore the possibility of someone with a mark not wanting it, so I dealt with that in chapter 28 in the most biblical way I could think of. Chapter 24 Read and discuss 1 Corinthians 7: Is it better not to marry? Why or why not? When is it better to marry? Why does Angela say no to John s proposal?

9 Chapter 25 What is the church? *Lapbook piece, Notebooking page Todd can t figure out who the leader is because everyone spoke in turn. We also read about them gathering in homes and sharing meals. But they all listen to Gabe. What is going on here? What exactly is the church? Use these Scriptures to think it over and try and forget everything you think you know about church. If you are interested, read some early church history. When did churches stop acting like Acts and start acting like a dead religion? Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-35, 1 Corinthians 14:26, 1 Corinthians 12:7-27, 2 Corinthians 1:1 What Is Church? Cut out as one piece. Fold on the dotted line. Write your conclusions inside.

11 Chapter 28 Bible -- Matthew 5:30 I mentioned in chapter twenty-three why I believe it will be impossible to be marked against your will. But since many people think it is possible, I wanted a biblical response to having the mark and not wanting it. There was an example in a popular book of someone being marked against his will and not saying anything about it. I think that is an extremely dangerous example. People will want an excuse to justify taking it. But taking the mark will reveal a heart of unbelief. I ll get off my soap box here. This is the Scripture I used to respond to the idea of being marked and not wanting it: Matthew 5:30
