Life Application: 1 s & 2 s will recognize people who tell them about Jesus. Bible Phrase: Tell others about Jesus. Mark 16:15 Get Ready Item 10: Teaching Picture: Paul & Barnabas Work See Bible Fun Activities for supplies provided Item 20: Book: God Loves Item 27a: Book: God Loves Us Sing Together Page ETC 26 Use the tune Mulberry Bush to sing these words: Paul and Barnabas had work to do, Work to do, work to do, Paul and Barnabas had work to do, Telling people about Jesus. Say the Bible Phrase Comment that God want us to tell others about Jesus just as Paul did. Using the Bible marker, say and repeat the Bible phrase. Pray God, help us to show love when we tell others about Jesus. Bible Fun Activities Supplies provided: Preprinted map, die-cut boat, Bible phrase strip and toy telephone (you can also pretend, using your hand). Map of Paul s Travels: Give each child a map and guide them to use their finger to trace Paul s travels. Let them color the map and then glue a die-cut boat and the Bible phrase onto the map. Talk on toy telephones: Pretend to talk on the telephone with the children. Tell the children that you are talking to someone Jesus loves. Remind them to show love when they tell others about Jesus. Dismiss As the children leave, hand the parents the Early Bible Steps Page. Point out the activity on the back of the Page. Talk about the Bible Story Page ETC 26 Display the teaching picture and open the Bible Acts 13 & 14 as you tell the story.

Bible Connection: People at church help others hear about Jesus. Give each child a paper plate to decorate with crayons and dot stickers, making a fan. Glue the Bible phrase to their finished fan. Tell the children the fans can be given to thank someone for telling them about Jesus. 3-Clean Up Play Tell Everyone about Jesus (Track 16) as the children help clean the room. 4-Group Time Supplies provided: Bible, teaching picture, Item 19: Children Figures, blocks (from classroom) Bible Connection: Barnabas & Paul helped people hear about Jesus. Play with People Figures: Page 57 Use Item 19: Children Figures, along with the blocks in the classroom. Encourage the children to build with blocks. Comment that Paul & Barnabas told people about Jesus. Hear the Bible Story: Page 55 Have the children gather around you for story time. Show the picture and invite a child to find and point to Paul & Barnabas. Open your Bible to Acts 13, as you tell the Bible story. Repeat the Bible Phrase: Have the children whisper the Bible phrase and then shout the Bible phrase. 5-Pray Lead the children in prayer, thanking God for each child in the classroom. 6-Dismiss: Give parents the Early Bible Steps Page, pointing to the activity on the back. Remind children they can tell people about Jesus wherever they go.

Talk about the Bible Story Page ETC 28 Display the teaching picture and open your Bible to Acts 11:27-30, as you tell the Bible story. Say the Bible Phrase Show the children the Early Bible Steps Page as you say the Bible phrase. Pray Thank you, God for church friends who love. Bible Fun Activities Supplies provided: Paper plate, beanbag, markers, and sentence strip, one of each die-cut per child: small heart, small church, small hand & Bible phrase strip. Make helper hats (adapted version of Wear Helper Hats ETC-28): Give each child a sentence strip and markers to decorate. Help them glue a church, hand and heart die-cut onto the strip. Glue the Bible phrase onto the strip and write, My Helping Hat onto the strip or one of the die-cuts. Measure the strip around the child s head and staple the strip together, creating a hat. Toss a beanbag: Help children form a line. Let each child take a turn (allowing 3 tosses for each child) tossing a beanbag onto a paper plate. Tell them that sharing the beanbag with a friend is a way to show love. Dismiss Give each child an Early Bible Steps Page. Encourage them to bring their Bible to church.

Bible Connection: The people at church showed love to others. Let each child color the church with crayons. Next, allow them to decorate the windows using dot markers, creating stained glass windows. Glue Bible phrase strip onto the bottom of the paper, helping each child repeat the verse with you. 3-Clean Up Play Love and Help (Track 11) as the children help clean the room. 4-Group Time Supplies provided: Bible, teaching picture & Music & More CD. Bible Connection: The people at church showed love to others. Build a Church : Page 61 Place a sheet, blanket or towel on the floor and invite children to a pretend picnic. Talk about favorite foods to eat. Relate the picnic to the families who sat outdoors to listen to Jesus. Comment that the Bible tells the story about Jesus giving food to people. Show the teaching picture and sing the song Jesus Helped (Track 13). Hear the Bible Story -Page 59 Show the children the teaching picture as you open your Bible to Acts 11 and tell the Bible story. Repeat the Bible Phrase See Art Center 5-Pray Thank you, God for church friends who love. 6-Dismiss: Give parents the Early Bible Steps Page, and thank them for bringing their child to church.

Talk about the Bible Story Page ETC 30 Display the teaching picture and open the Acts 18 as you tell the Bible story. Say the Bible Phrase Place the Bible marker in the Bible. Ask a child to open the Bible to marker. Say the phrase and have them all repeat. Pray Thank you God for our friends at church. Bible Fun Activities Supplies provided: Plastic eggs, rice, beans, plastic spoons, masking tape, Music & More CD. Make musical instruments: Give each child a plastic egg. Help them fill one half with rice and beans. Close the egg and tape it shut. Next, tape two spoons to the egg, one on either side, to create a maraca. Play musical instruments: Lead children to play their instruments along with the Music & More CD. Tell them friends work together to make music at church. Dismiss- Show each child the picture on the Early Bible Steps Page as they leave, reminding them of the Bible story.

Bible Connection: Paul worked with his friends. Let the children color and decorate their paper strip with markers and stickers, encouraging them to work together. Measure the strip loosely around their wrist and tape it together, creating a bracelet. Add the Bible phrase to the bracelet. 3-Clean Up Play Working Together (Track 14) as the children help clean the room. 4-Group Time Supplies provided: Bible, teaching picture, plastic tablecloth, Item 29a-b Bible Connection: Paul helped his friends make tents. Sit in a tent: -Page 64 Spread a plastic tablecloth onto the floor, and invite the children to sit on it with you. While pretending you are in a tent, help the children match the picture cards (Item 29a-b). Hear the Bible Story: -Page 63 Open your Bible to Acts 18 and display the teaching picture as you tell the story. Repeat the Bible Phrase: Clap your hands as you say each word of the Bible phrase. Have the children follow along until they can say it on their own. 5-Pray Dear God, help us to work together to help others. 6-Dismiss Point to the picture on the Early Bible Steps Page and thank them for working together today.

Life Application: 1 s & 2 s will hear teachers and friends talk to God. Bible Phrase: God hears us ask Him for help. Talk about the Bible Story Page ETC 32 Display the teaching picture and open the Bible to Acts 12:1-17 as you tell the story. Say the Bible Phrase Open the Bible to Psalm 145:19. Use motions to as you say and repeat the Bible phrase. (Pointing up for God, cup your ear for hear, etc.) Pray Tell the children that praying is how we talk to God. Remind them to close their eyes, bow their heads and fold their hands. Thank you God for our friends at church who show love by asking for your help. Bible Fun Activities Supplies provided: quarter sheet construction paper, praying hands die-cut, small strip of magnet, Music & More CD, crayons, and Bible phrase strip, Items 16, 17 & 27a: Books. Draw to music: Give each child a piece of paper and crayons. While the Music & More CD plays, have children draw on their paper. Help them glue the praying hands die-cut onto their paper. Tell children they can talk to God and thank Him for their friends at church. Glue Bible phrase onto the bottom of the paper and attach the magnet strip onto the back. Look at books about friends ETC-32: While looking at books about friends, talk about ways friends show love for one another. Dismiss- Hand the Early Bible Steps Page to the children as they leave. Remind them God hears us ask Him for help for our friends.

Bible Connection: Peter s friends asked God to help him. Give each child the preprinted color sheet. Drizzle glue around the praying hands and instruct the children to place tissue squares onto the glue. Glue the Bible phrase strip onto the paper. 3-Clean Up Play Wave Your Hands (Track 17) as the children help clean the room. 4-Group Time Supplies provided: Bible, Teaching Pictures, Music & More CD, and puzzles from classroom. Bible Connection: Peter s friends at church loved him. Work Mixed-up Puzzles - Page 69 Put the pieces from two or more puzzles on the table or floor. Encourage the children to work together to find pieces for the puzzles. Tell them they are showing love just as Peter s friends showed love when they talked to God and asked for His help. Hear the Bible Story - Page 67 Open your Bible to Acts 12 and show the teaching picture. Ask: Who is in the picture? What are people doing? Who do you see talking to God at our church? Repeat the Bible Phrase: Open the Bible and read the phrase God hears us ask Him for help. 5-Pray Thank you, God for hearing us when we ask for help. 6-Dismiss: As you hand each child their Early Bible Steps Page, thank them for coming and encourage first time visitors to return.
