2 Course/Module description: The seminar discusses Middle Eastern societies and their experiences during WWI. It concentrates on the social and cultural changes that were triggered by the war and their ramifications on the shaping of the region. Course/Module aims: The seminar aims to explore WWI as experienced and remembered by Middle Eastern societies. It also discusses the main social, cultural and political ramifications of the war on local societies. Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to: By analyzing primary sources, the students are expected to prepare an original paper that deals with the events or experiences of WWI in the Middle East.
