2 Course/Module description: The development of Jewish prayer from the Bible to the its institution by the Rabbis and the earliest Jewish prayerbooks. Course/Module aims: 1. Describe the history of Jewish liturgy 2. Analyze the basic texts for Jewish liturgy from the Bible, Second Temple literature, rabbinic literature and Prayerbooks Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to: 1. Describe the history of Jewish liturgy 2. Analyze the basic texts for Jewish liturgy from the Bible, Second Temple literature, rabbinic literature and Prayerbooks Attendance requirements(%): 80% Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Discussion of required texts and secondary readings. Introductory lecture to topics. Course/Module Content: 1-2.
