It makes all things ALIVE and SIGNIFICANT! quoted by Ralph Waldo emerson was correctly experienced at the largest festival of youth, energy, dreams, passion, achievements and positivity- XITIJ 14 the 4 th youth festival of Gujarat Technological University. Sarvajanik Education Society is a premier educational institution established in Surat in Sarvajanik Education Society is India's biggest philanthropic society today more than 100 years old, having under its care 35 institutions imparting education from pre-school level to post graduate level covering variety of disciplines including engineering and management education. Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology, popularly known as SCET, is one of the shining color of bright, vibrant, versatile and wide spread educational color-palate of Sarvajanik Education Society. Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology is one of the prime Institutions offering technical education in field of Engineering & Architecture. SCET located in the heart of Surat city presently enrolls more than 2000 students in various disciplines of Engineering, Architecture and MCA. SCET is successfully running 10 UG courses and 7 PG courses and performing outstanding in every aspect of education as well as civilization. Sarvajanik College of engineering and Technology, Surat has been privileged to host XITIJ (GTU youth festival for south zone) for consecutive Four years from very beginning. Believing that- Cultural activities boosts technical intellect - SCET encourages creativity and potential of students towards arts and culture. Being host institute for Xitij in past three years, SCET has set up many milestones of success such as - enthusiastic and exponentially increasing student participation in every category from all south zone colleges, well observed-neutrally judged and timely organized events, arranging expert and well-known juries for every event etc. To provide youth a platform to showcase their hidden skills and talent, Xitij'14 [- Gujarat Technological university s youth Festival ] will be spanned into five major categories. 1) Music 2) Literature 3) Fine Arts 4)Theater 5)Dance. Each category itself contains multiple opportunities as multiple events, which are designed focusing on AIU[ all India Universities] rules in consideration to provide students global competitive platform. The Whole format of Xitij is designed by GTU such that the students are first competing at zone level [ Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Rajkot and Surat are five Zones under GTU]. Those who qualify and win at zone level, are representing their zone at inter-zonal youth festival and the inter-zonal winners shall represent Gujarat Technological university for inter- university fest. The successive competition not only sharpens the talent of competitors but also implants qualities like team spirit, self- confidence, pressure resistivity.

3 Sarvajanik College of engineering and Technology, Surat was honored to host XITIJ 14 during September 2014, for south zone- successively second time! The enthusiastic participation, full of energy yet disciplined participants and timely, well organized execution of all events made XITIJ 14 a huge success at south zone. Nature has its own different ways of challenging mankind- experiencing it, this year Xitij 14even conquered over the situation of flood! Though the whole south Gujarat region experienced flood alerts, the talent and passion of youth won over the nature s setbacks. Xitij 14not only started on schedule but also experienced more enthusiastic participation this year. We at Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology, being the host institute took proper care of encrypting the college names before hand with college code and informed the same to team managers of all participating colleges at the time of registration itself. Because of over qualified, skilled and professional juries in each category and event, we had not received a single query against the results. Although as per norms we had, well in advance formed a committee to sort out if any issue against jury s judgment arises. Being an integral part of Gujarat Technological university, We, at south zone also whole heartedly celebrated the 4 th youth fest- XITIJ 14and the glimpse as well as summary of this youth-dream-talent-competition travel youth festival are as follows Excellence is evolving process - considering this fact, SCET is focusing this year in hosting XITIJ' 14 at much broader platform to provide strong, wide and powerful platform to budding engineers to showcase their talent and creativity.
