5 Literary Activities held during the academic year August 215 held at. 15 September Essay Competition on Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Movement organized by Gulbarga University College Retired Teachers Association. Five students participated. 22 September Commemorating 32 nd Punyasmaranotsava Celebration of Lingaikkya Parama Poojya Doddapppa Appa. Several competitions were conducted. Elocution, Essay Writing, Music and Fine Art competitions were conducted on the Divine Life of Poojya Doddappa Appa. Prizes were awarded on the Punyatithi Day celebrations. The best speaker was sent for the Elocution competition held by the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha. On the Punyasmaranothstava Day the following programme was organised. Smt. Umadevi Dharamraj Kadadi, Honourable President, Alumni Association, Godutai Doddappa Appa Arts and Commerce College for Women,, & President, Akhila Bharat Veerashaiva Mahasabha Women s Wing, Solapur was the Chief Guest. Dr. Vijayadevi, Prof., Dept. Of Kannada & Dean of Arts Faculty, Karnataka State Women s University, Vijayapur was the Guest of Honor. Dr. Neelambika Sherikar was the President of the function. 31 October 215 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel s 14 th Birthday. As per the circular from the University Grants Commission the following events were organized in our college. 1...Lecture on The Life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the country s freedom struggle by Prof. B.Ramreddy, Dept. Of Political Science, Retired Principal. He also gave a talk on our Antarvani FM 9.8 Community Radio,. A live discussion was made by the Antarvani Director, Dr. Shivraj Heroor, Dept. of Kannada from our college. A report was sent to Prof. Dr. Jaspal S.Sandhu, Secretary, UGC, New Delhi. 9 January 216 Elocution competition was conducted by Dr. Ambedkar College,. Ms. Uma Mahshetty, B.Com IV Sem and Poojaya U. Gadwal of IV Sem have attended. 3 January 216 Essay Writing Competition was organised by Bi Bi Raza College for Women,. Bhagyashree of BA IV Sem won the Third prize. 7 February 216 Sri Satya Sai Seva Samithi,, conducted Golden Age Elocution Competition on If you make your mother happy all your life will become blissful. Two students participated and won the Third prize. 9 March 216 Essay competition was conducted by Smt V.G.Women s College,. Ms. Pooja A.N. and Ms. Anusha M.A. both, of B.Com VI Sem participated.

6 4 March 216 Essay Writing, Singing, Elocution and Caption writing competitions were held by All India Mahila Samskruti Sanghatane under the auspices of International Women s Day celebrations. Twelve students participated and received participation awards. 9 March 216 Pujya Godutai Awwaji s Punyatithi was observed. Pof. Mahananda Diggaonkar, Retd teacher of our institution was the Chief Guest. Few staff members also spoke on the Divine life of Awwaji as experienced by them. Principal, Dr. Neelambika Sherikar was the President of the function. Prizes were distributed to students of Fine Arts for their paintings on Awwaji.
