5 ANNUAL REPORT Sairam Report of the Trustees : It has been a year of great changes at Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Karnataka, with revered seniors Sri.Y.N.Gangadhar Setty, Sri.S.N.S.Murthy and Sri.K.Jairaj stepping down as Trustees. However Sri.Y.N.Gangadhar Setty and Sri.S.N.S.Murthy wi continue to be specia invitees and advisors to the Trust. With the bessings of Bhagwan, Sri.B.R.Vasuki, Sri.Vinay Kumar, Sri. Y.G.Ramkumar and Sri.Nagesh Dhakappa have been nominated as Trustees. Sri.B.R.Vasuki wi be the Convenor of the Trust. Sri.T.K.K.Bhagavat, Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Centra Trust, wi be a Specia Invitee and Advisor to the Trust. Sri.U.N.Baram, Sri.S.C.Ajay, Sri.S.L.N.Mohan Kumar and Sri.Kannan have stepped down as members of the Counci of Management and it has been reconstituted with the foowing members: 1. Sri. A new trust named, Sri Sathya Sai Education Trust (Karnataka), has been formed to ook after the Mahia Coege and schoos in Dharwar and meet the specific needs of Sri Sathya Sai Schoos and other Educationa Actitivities in the State. During the year many major programmes ike Parthi Yatra, State-wide Spiritua Essay Contest and Reief to Food affected Chennai City were carried out. We have expended a major portion of our funds towards improving the infrastructure faciities of Sri Sathya Sai Schoos. We have supported Sri Sathya Sai Rura Vocationa Centre Dharwar and wish to further improve its activities and aso start more such centres in the State. We woud aso ike to support the charitabe activities of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations pertaining to Medica Reief, Educationa deveopment, Disaster Management programmes, poor feeding activities etc. We aso woud ike to assist in Rura Service Centres for muti purpose activities benefiting the rura poor. We propose to support the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyoti Programme under which arge number of Government Schoos wi be taken up for support and improvement to provide quaity education to rura chidren. 9 ANNUAL REPORT Sai Sannidhi At The Divine Lotus Feet... n His boundess ove for devotees in Karnataka, Swami bessed us with many Imajor programmes and Yatra to His Abode in Prasanthi Niayam as part of His 90th Birthday Ceebrations. HIS Divine Presence was fet by the countess devotees who thronged a the programmes. One With Sai music programmes, State eve Spiritua Essay contest, Festiva of Joy, Parthi Yatra and exceent presentation of Vedam Chanting, Bhajans and Dramas by Bavikas chidren were great spiritua sadhanas and they cuminated in the Grand Birthday Ceebrations of our beoved Lord with Love and Reverence a over Karnataka. Training Programmes at Sri Sathya Sai Rura Vocationa Training Centre for Women progressed satisfactoriy and Disaster Management Awareness programmes were organised in Coeges and Institutions. Launching of the State Organisations Website made it convenient for devotees everywhere to know about our activities. WhatsApp made it possibe for transmitting information about activities conducted a over the State. Technoogy is being put to good use. Dharwar Education Compex has been taken up to promote Education in a big way and it augurs we for the future. Above a, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyoti, a programme for the benefit of students of Government schoos ocated in backward and remote areas is being aunched shorty and with Bhagwan's Grace it wi brighten the ives of thousands of young students. This year's Annua Report features Artices by Ceebrity Devotee, dedicated Seva Vounteer and information about our State, Districts and office bearers of our Organisation. 10 SRI SATHYA SAI SEVA ORGANISATIONS (KARNATAKA) Chitradurga JB Nagar Bangaore Birthday Seva STATE LEVEL ACTIVITIES MAHA ARADHANA MAHOTSAV was observed with soemnity and dedication a over the State with maha narayan seva, vastra dhaan and other seva activities. In Bangaore, a centraised kitchen was set up at Maratha Hoste Choutry, Bu Tempe Road, Basavangudi where food for about narayanas was prepared in the most hygienic manner and distributed a over the City through Samitis and Bhajan Mandais. Narayan seva was performed at a Districts and it is estimated that over 125,000 narayanas benefited on that day. 90TH BIRTHDAY OF BHAGAWAN was ceebrated with grace and grandeur a over the state with specia programmes, bhajans and seva activities. At Brindavan, the programme commenced with Suprabatham, Nagarsankir tan, Paaki procession, Sri Sai Sathyanarayana Puja in the morning and Jua Utsavam in the evening. Vastra daan was aso performed. PARTHI YATRA BY KARNATAKA: As part of the 90th Birthday ceebrations, Parthi yatra was undertaken by devotees from a the Districts of Karnataka, on 3rd and 4th of October Over 2500 devotees, State and District Office bearers and 300 Bavikas chidren and their parents participated. The veda team of Karnataka exceed with their veda chanting and the two dramas staged by Bavikas chidren won the heart of every one present. 11 ANNUAL REPORT Akhand Bhajan KGF Sub Jai of Karnataka was distributed to a devotees and institutions of Prasanthi Niayam. SPIRITUAL ESSAY COMPETITION: A major initiative to mark the 90th Birthday of Bhagawan was the hoding of a State Leve Essay Competition for PU students of Karnataka. It was conducted in two phases: initiay at Tauk eve from which 2 winners each were seected and they came to Brindavan, Bangaore to take part in the State Leve finas in which 5 winners each in Kannada and Engish were seected. There was overwheming response from coeges and students and over students had participated. 11 winners were seected out of the 300 finaists from the tauks and they a received their awards at Prasanthi Niayam during the State's Parthi Yatra. A unique winner was Mr. Mustafa from Beari who was differenty abed and wrote with his toes. Appreciative of the efforts and the quaity of their essays, Sri Sathya Sai Trust (K) has offered to support two of the physicay chaenged persons among the winners in pursuing their education. ESWARAMMA PURASKARA: The Annua Eswaramma Puraskara Samarambha was hed on Sunday, 7th February, 2016 at Sai Ramesh Ha, Brindavan. Dr. Madhu Kapani (Principa, Sri Sathya Sai Coege for Women, Anantapur) presided over the function and presented the awards to two renowned socia workers of the State, Dr. (Smt.) T.J. Padmaja, Mysore District and Smt. Shakuntaa Mai Pati, Koppa District. Smt. Vandita Prasad IAS (Principa Secretary, Infrastructure,Govt. of Karnataka) was the Chief Guest of the function. Members of Sri Sathya Sai Trust (Karnataka), office-bearers, members of the Organisation and devotees in arge numbers participated. Highight of the event was the Paaki procession from Gokuam. STATE LEVEL VALUE FESTIVAL: State Leve Bavikas Vaue Festiva was hed at Brindavan on 12th and 13th Juy, Sri.Aravind Jatti, President, Sri Basava samiti, inaugurarated the Festiva. Various competitions, quiz programmes were conducted. Bavikas chidren staged a drama, Nature the Guru. On the second day Smt.Dr.L.G.Meera, Head of Dept of Kannada, Maharani Science Coege was the guest speaker. Over 500 Bavikas chidren and arge number of Gurus participated. ONE WITH SAI, Specia Music Programmes for the genera pubic to create awareness about Bhagawan's 90th Birthday, has been organised at a the five Bangaore City Districts and Shimoga & South Kanara. The programmes attracted arge crowds and were conducted with great eegance and grandeur. LAUNCHING OF WEBSITE; In keeping with the Nationa Technoogy Committee's programme. 7

Sri.Venkatramana, State Vice President the driving force behind the programme, aby assisted by Sri.Sayeesh and other Zona coordinators, presented the highights and features of the exceenty designed website: Sri.Nagesh Dhakappa, State President, formay aunched the website in the presence of Sri.Y.N.Gangadhar Setty and Sri.S.N.S.Murthy. SANATHANA SARATHI (KANNADA)'s pubishing has been shifted to Bangaore from Juy 2015 onwards. A new editoria team has been formed. Sri.Udaya Dharmasthaa has been nominated as the editor. The initia probems in shifting the pubishing work has been successfuy overcome. There has been a good reception from the devotees to the changes made particuary with more news about the organisationa activities in the State. A vigorous drive has been aunched to increase the subscriber base to before the next Birthday of Bhagawan. ANNUAL REPORT 2015 in Engish and Kannada has been brought out. The first copies were paced at the Divine Lotus Feet at Prasanthi Niayam. Copies have been sent to a the District Presidents for distribution among important persons of their District and Samitis / Mandais. GLOBAL AKHAND BHAJAN was organised by a the Districts and in Bangaore City, it was hed at Brindavan, Sai Darshan, Sai Gitanjai, Sai Krupa and UAS Aumni Centre, Hebba. Devotees gathered in arge numbers at a centres, RATH YATRA: A unique Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Rath Yatra has been organised by North Kanara District from 25th Oct to 2nd November. A Goden Chariot simiar to the one in Prasanthi Niayam with the ido of Swami traveed around in a 11 Bday Samuhika SN Vratam Mysore 8

This is probaby the Biggest Ever such Programme in Karnataka State so far. 126 Youths(Gents) and 57 Youths(Ladies) in a 183 youths " SAI MESSENGERS. " traveed with Swami for a the 9 days during Rath Yatra. Lakhs of peope in viages and sma towns thronged to have 'darshan' of Bhagwan. The Yatra concuded on 2nd November with a coourfu function on the picturesque beach of Karwar. At the time of Rath Yatra about 315 poor & deserving famiies of the viages were given Amrut Kaasham aong with Dhoti/Towe and Sarees as Swami's Prasadam. SRI SATHYA SAI RURAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR WOMEN, DHARWAR is growing in strength. The Fourth batch of trainees successfuy competed their course and Training for the Fifth Batch has commenced. Introducing fur ther courses for training is under consideration. Vocationa training course on Dress Designing and Enrichment of IV Batch (Duration-Nov-Jan 2016) Vaedictory function was organized on 30th Jan Exhibition of the garments and enrichments methods made during the course was arranged and students performed yoga dance, which was highy appreciated. VTC SAMUHIKA SATHYA SAI VRATHA KALPAM for 90 coupes was organised at Sai Vaibhav Kendra, Sairanga,Mysore on 25th October as part of 90th Birthday Ceebrations.. Chief guests: Sri Syed Khan( I.E.R.T. Noda Officer) & Dr. A. Kumar Subrahmanya Bhat (Sanskrit schoar, Mangaore). Speeches on Bhakti & Shraddha by Sri. Syed Khan and on the importance of the vratham & archana, one of the 9-fod path devotion by Sri.Kumar Subrahmanya Bhat. BHOOMI PUJA AT DHARWR: Bhoomi Puja was performed on 27th October, at Sri Sathya Sai Women's Coege campus at Dharwar for the construction of new Coege, Schoo and Hoste Buiding there. Recenty the 10 acres ground has been handed over to Sri Sathya Sai Centra Trust and the Centra Trust is funding the entire cost of construction. THAI SAYI MADIYALLI a programme to care for young infants has been aunched at a districts by Mahia Youth Wing of the Organisation. This offering is tited...taayi Sayiya Madiai...the youngest and the odest are Swami's dearest. This project was executed in two phases. 9

14 SRI SATHYA SAI SEVA ORGANISATIONS (KARNATAKA) Phase I: On August 15th, a the Mahia youth from a the districts of Karnataka visited od age homes of their choice in their respective district. Starting with Aumkar at a.m foowed by veda chanting and Ashtotram. 'Inmates of the home aso participated in the archana. This was foowed...about a month was donated and fruits were distributed as Prasadam' Before departing, groceries that is required for about a month sha be donated and fruits sha be distributed as Prasadam to the inmates. Phase 2: 90 new born baby kits (each kit containing 2 jabaas, 2 kaachas, 1 rubber sheet, 1 baby soap, baby powder) distributed to 90 new born babies in every district of Karnataka. Aong with baby kit, sai protein was given to the mother of the infant (this is depending on the avaiabiity of Sai Protein in every district). Distribution started from August 15th and a the kits were distributed before November 10th A creative project was we thought out and exceenty carried out! SAI GAYATRI CHANTING PROGRAMME A Sai Gayatri Chanting programme, with the ambitious goa of achieving One Crore Eight Lakhs chanting to be competed before the 91st Birthday of Swami was initiated in Ramanagara District and was adopted as a State Leve Programme. With a humbe beginning, the programme has gathered momentum and crossed the 20 akhs mark. 16 SRI SATHYA SAI SEVA ORGANISATIONS (KARNATAKA) SRI SATHYA SAI VIDYA JYOTI: The Nationa Youth Initiative to aunch Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyoti Programme a over the country was outined by Sri.Gopi Krishna Pitadaa, Member TeamSSSNYC to a the District Presidents, Youth Coordinators and State office bearers at a meeting hed on 13th March 2016 at Brindavan. There was tremendous enthusiasm for the programme among the District office bearers and after detaied discussions it was decided to immediatey identify schoos and prepare survey reports. A time frame was arrived at for finaising the schoos and inaugurating them. It is expected that over 50 government schoos spread a over the State and ocated in backward, remote areas wi benefit from this scheme. It is expected that Sri Sathya Sai Trust (Karnataka) wi support the programme financiay. SAI VEDA POSHANA: The objective of this initiative is to adopt a structured approach to Vedam training, earning and chanting in our organization. Whie we are focusing on youth gents, we wish to open this to gents eders and chidren too. We want to aign with the way Vedam is taught, earnt and chanted in Parthi with specia emphasis on the meaning aspect. Going forward we woud ike to expand the scope of this initiative to incude the theme of Indian cuture and Spirituaity. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: With Bhagawan's grace the newy aunched Karnataka State Website has overtaken other State websites in googe search ranking to get the top spot among a state websites in India. We have been abe to do this with imited number of contributors to the site. Our aim is to get a Samithi's across Karnataka to start contributing. When that happens we can even come to the number 1 spot on googe search resuts. A of this mean that the site is getting more and more visibiity on the internet. We are seeing a steady increase in the inquiries from the website as we. We are getting around 20 contact us form submissions per month currenty. The "Find your Sai Center" ink on the site is getting the maximum hits which means there may be many new devotees joining Sai centers getting information from the website directy as we. Our state facebook page has 400+ foowers aready(the count is increasing every day) and around 150 newsetter subscribers on the site. DHARWAR EDUCATION COMPLEX In 1968, for the first time, Bhagwan undertook a week ong tour of North Karnataka Districts of Dharwar, North Kanara, Bijapur and Begaum. As recorded by Sri.Kasturi ji, Bhagwan himsef named the tour as " Ananda Yatra of Amarapuri ". Moved by the devotion of peope of North Karnataka Districts, Bhagwan decided that a campus for Mahia Education shoud be estabished there. 17 ANNUAL REPORT DM Training Koar University was formed. Ministry of Raiways kindy aotted 10 acres of and through Govt of Karnataka to Sri Sathya Sai Educationa Society, formed for this purpose. Bhagwan visited the site of the and aotted subsequenty. HE gave darshan to thousands of devotees. It was a proud moment for the peope of North Karnataka. Sri Sathya Sai Educationa Society started a Coege for Women at this site. Bacheor of Home Science and BCA courses were being offered. To deveop the and propery into a fu fedged educationa compex, Sri Sathya Sai Educationa Society handed over the entire and of 10 acres and buidings to Sri Sathya Sai Centra Trust in Sri Sathya Sai Centra Trust has presenty spent about Rs Crores towards construction of Schoo, Coege and Hoste Buidings. Managing the Educationa Activities has been handed over to Sri Sathya Sai Education Trust (Karnataka). This year, Pre Nursery, LKG, UKG and 1st Standard have been started in the Schoo. Permission has been received for starting Pre University (Commerce) and B.Com courses. It is aso proposed to start Fine Arts and Dance Academy for girs. A Rura Vocationa Training Centre for Women has aso been started in this Compex, as part of the Nationa Initiatives to mark Bhagwan's 90th Birthday, to provide better empoyment opportunities to Rura Women and improve their economic conditions. Currenty training is being offered in Textie Accessories Designing. The Centre proposes to introduce courses in Ethnic Cooking and Home Nursing aso. The project is funded by Sri Sathya Sai Trust (Karnataka). So far four batches of trainees have successfuy competed their training. The Mahia Education Compex stands as a proud Memoria of Bhagwan's first visit to North Karnataka and HIS ove for devotees of Karnataka. DISASTER MANAGEMENT Do not restrict your service within certain imits. Be aert to the ca everywhere, at a times be ready with a smie, a kind word, a usefu suggestion, some knowedgeabe care, a peasant repy. Look for chances to reieve, rescue or resuscitate. DM training is conducted in a the five zona training centers. Trainers training hed in Brindavan, ed by Sri Ravikiran, DM Facuty, SSSSO-AP. DM refresher training camp hed in Udupi. DA Programmes hed so far, viz., in 1. Bangaore Youth, SSSIHL-Brindavan Campus, 2. Genius Nationa PU Coege Koar, 3. Samaikhya PU Coege, Koar and 4. Medica Service activities are conducted a over the State. We give a programme organised in Domgera viage Haiya (Free Homeopathy Medica Camp) as typica of such activities: 1. Our session began with a warm wecome to Dr Rama Oza. 2. Group of peope started sharing their experiences about the medica activities that is happening since a year. They shared their opinion and expectations. 3. With their experience we introduced them to Community Heath Vounteer training programme, the purpose of it and benefits of it. 4. We categorised them into different functiona groups ike The Registration and Records maintaining, Pharmacy, Reception & Transportation, Cinica Laboratory etc We aso decentraised the entire activity by requesting them to train up other teams in other viages. With this we aim to have a more fexibe, practica and better functioning medica activity in a viages seected in our programme. Sai Protein Distribution Bangaore West 5. We train seected iterate married women for Community Heath Vounteer programme. On 6th march Tota 152 patients got registered. Free Medica / Denta camps are being reguary conducted a over the State. Mangaore and Puttur Samitis in South Kanara District have performed outstanding work in this area. They conduct reguar medica / eye camps every month. Over 5000 patients have benefited. In Begaum District Mahia day was ceebrated as foows: - a) Kaoi Samithi: Ladies conducted Narayana Seva in the morning and Bhajan programme in the evening on a months on 19 th. b) Gokak Samithi: Ladies distributed bananas to 18 students in Vasant Shibir, 75 poor peope in nomad sheds and 96 students in KBS Adibatti SSSVIP schoo. c) Kangrai Samithi: Ladies visited Ganeshpur od age home, conducted Bhajans and educare and distributed fruits and Prasadam to 18 inmates. As part of this activity, South Bangaore district chose Shri Ambigara Chowdayya Seva Mandir, Vasanthpura run by Mr. Ambarish and famiy, consisting of 22 inmates and conducted veda chanting, Laksharchana foowed by Bhajans and handing over of grocery to the home. The vibrations and the positive energy was so evident that the swing (jhooa) where SWAMI'S photo was paced started swinging and SWAMI sent his bessings through a fower. For more than a year now Bangaore West District is providing Amrutha Kaasa to a the residents of adopted viage Ramanathapura. Each samithi /bhajan mandai wi mobiise each item of the Amrutha Kaasa that is foodgrains,from the devotees' famiies and the same is coected, and packed in sai krupa and distributed to the poor viagers. This month our chandra ayout unit took up the seva at the viage The members of the unit conducted counseing sessions, bhajans and aso distributed the amrutha kaasam to the inmates. From Bhadravathi Samithi, every month, one quinta rice per month is being issued to four poor famiities (15 members) at HUDCO area, Hiriyur and Hosananjapura viages, under Nationa Narayana Seva Scheme. Teachers and students are invoved in distributing the above item. From Bhadravathi Samithi, Free Medica Camp was arranged in Hosananjapura adopted viage. First, I woud ike to share my spiritua experience with His Hoiness Bhagawan Baba Ji in Prashanthi Niayam at Puttaparthi with a of you! Since my chidhood, I have been very affectionate with my parents. Fortunatey, my father was a gread vidwan of Nadasvaram. I had received my Baa Patam (basic education) under his guidance. In spite of this, my mind was searching for something new, a different instrument to adopt in my musica career. In 1964, my neighbour who had got a darshan from Baba at Puttaparthi, came to my home and expained to my parents about the Darshan and their experience. I was so impressed on that day that I forced my parents to visit Puttaparthi immediatey. I remember that it was the ast week of June,1965. As you know, there was no proper accommodation there. Aso Darshan took pace between 6.00 AM and 8.00 AM. We a stayed in the open pace outside the Mandir. There was no fear of thieves and everyone kept their uggage outside the Mandir. I was 15 years od at that time and had seen the snake caves a around. I think that was why the pace got the name Puttaparthi (putta means caves). We stayed for 8 days hoping to get a persona darshan of His Hoiness Bhagwan but coudn't get it. If one is fortunate, I am sure, Bhagwan wi ca for persona Darshan. th On the 8 day, my father was dejected because we had aready spent amost a our money on food and misc. th expenses. On the 9 morning we went for darshan as usua. As usua, Baba didn't ca us. He went inside. As a resut, my father was very frustrated and decided to return to our home town. th But my subconscious mind advised me you can! You can get it!. On that 9 day morning a vounteer came from Bhagavan's room and caed out 'who is Thaniyappaiya? Who is Thaiyappaiya? Bhagavan caed for darshan'. Reay it is a mirace incident in my ife. We had not enroed my father's name in any register. How is it possibe? How did he know my father's name? As a young boy it a came as a surprise to me. Then I coud reaise that Baba was a Sarvantharyami, he coud know everything. Most happiy a my famiy members entered into Bhagavan's hoy room. Bhagavan Swami stood smiing in front of us. First my parents got bessings from Bhagavan,foowed by my sister and then he came to me. His Hoiness Bhagavan asked me, Meekku Eme Kavau Bangaru? ('what you want my dear?) Reay that is my poorva janma bhagya. I had prayed to him to bess for a good guru for my musica career. Immediatey Swamiji put his hand on my head and bessed with You wi succeed in your music throughout the word and he put some vibhuti prasadam on my head and tongue aso. After the joyfu darshan with Bhagavan Baba, we returned back to our home town. After a week, I had a chance visit to the Mysore Paace aong with my schoo mates and teachers of my schoo on an excursion. At that time the Poice Band rendered the Carnatic music compositions of His Highness Mummudi Krishnaraja Udayar. 28

33 ANNUAL REPORT (Even today they render the same music in Brindavan Garden!) I keeny watched the instrumenta rendering and one particuar instrument caught my attention. I earnt that it was the saxophone. After returning from the excursion, I asked my father to buy a saxophone for my musica practice. When I tod him it costed Rs.800/-, he suggested an aternate instrument to earn either on vioin, nadaswaram or veena. (In the year Rs.800/-was a huge amount equivaent to Rs.8 akhs now a days). I refused my father's suggestion and put pressure on mother to convince father and buy it. Finay I got my ovey sax for my routine practice. Everyday I prayed to Bhagavan Baba that my maiden concert shoud be rendered in front of him. I put in a ot of effort to earn cassica music and earn a the technica nuances quicky. I joined Kaaniketan Music Coege at Mangaore as a gurukuam student under Vidwan Sri.Gopaakrishna Iyer, who was a genius on voca as we as paying fute. I got good grounding in cassica music from him. Later I earnt under Vidwan Sri.Baakrishna Piai of Kumbakonam, a we known Nadaswaram payer and finay I have earnt a ot from my Athmartha Guru Padma Bhushan Dr.T.V.Gopaakrishnan. One fine morning, four peope traveing in an ambassador car came to our area enquiring about me. I introduced mysef and invited them to my house with a courtesies. Immediatey one of them said, Mr.Kadri! You are so ucky, man. Bhagavan Baba has sent us to pick you up for the concert tomorrow at Whitefied!. I was extremey happy to hear the news and reaised that my dream woud come true. However, I was a itte bit worried as I had aready accepted to perform coupe of concerts in Pondichery and it was to take pace the foowing day. I ceary remember the day was At this juncture, my guru Padmabhushan Dr.T.V.Gopaakrishnan caed and asked me to pick him up from Kour tempe and bring him to my house in Mangaore by car as there was some untoward incident due to poitica instabiity. There were no vehices on the road. Just imagine the situation I was paced in! When I expained to my guru about the invitation from Baba, he asked me who were the accompanists. I expained that I was yet to fix it. He immediatey accepted to accompany me on Mridangam. Actuay he is my musica guru! These were a Bhagavan's Leea! Shorty thereafter, the organisers from Pondichery and Chennai caed to say that due to aw and order probems, the concerts have been canceed and they woud contact to fix another date. I fet so happy and immediatey went to Whitefied with my Guru TVG. As I entered the ha, His Hoiness Bhagavan Baba ooked at me for a fraction of' seconds and I fet it was His Karuna Kadaksham! As I stood before Him, Baba said, 'How ong I had to wait to isten to your music Kadri?' and patting my back said, 'Yeh, I have my choice of songs for you to render this evening'. Immediatey I fet so nervous, because I am not a Swayambu. I was so confused in my mind what songs Bhagavan has chosen. As usua, I coud ony pray to Swami to hep me to succeed in the evening's concert. In the evening Bhagavan expained briefy about the Vedanta to the huge gathering of devotees and after Ashirvachanam he caed me to perform my concert. One of the devotees came to the dais and gave the ist of songs given by Bhagavan. I went through the ist and My God Bhagavan Baba! they were a my masterpieces. Bhagavan was aways saying When I am here why shoud you fear? What a bessings I got! These are a my Poorva Janma Bhagya! In my ife I have so many miraces with the bessings of Bhagavan Baba. Sti Bhagavan Baba is iving with us in our hearts. In fact, I am sti foowing the practice of praying to Bhagavan Baba that a my concerts wi go successfuy without any hindrance. Yes! His Hoiness' bessings I got my Padma Award; 2 Doctorates, one from Bangaore University and another from Mangaore University; Taminadu & Karnataka State Awards, Kendriya Sangit Natak Akademi Award, A India Radio Top Grade, ot of prestigious miestones, awards, tites and aso Asthana Vidwan at amost a the ancient Tempes and Mutts. 34 SRI SATHYA SAI SEVA ORGANISATIONS (KARNATAKA) SRI. P. RAJAGOPAL RAO (Sevada Coordinator, SSSIHMS) SEVA AS SADHANA I was born in 1940 at Anantapur. I was the eedest of the tweve chidren of my parents seven sons and five daughters. Life was a continuous strugge in those days and I earnt at an eary age to shouder more responsibiities and support my poor parents. After competing my SSLC in Hindupur and undergoing a one year dipoma course, I joined as Secretary of a Cooperative Bank. In 1960, I was appointed as Supervisor in the Anantapur Cooperative Agricutura Deveopment Bank. From there on, with sincerity and hard work, I served the Bank for 38 years and retired as Deputy Genera Manager in My marriage was the turning point in my ife. My wife was very reigious and was a devotee of Bhagwan. She had a short ife; passed away at the age of 36. She gave me strength and showed me what Rea Love is. She continued to ive in me and guided me in my ife. She brought me to Swami and motivated me to take up Seva as Spiritua Sadhana. Everyday, when I switch on my mobie she smies at me with approva. Another motivating factor was the etter I received from Sri.Sai Gangadhar Rao, Genera Manager of the Bank, at the time of my retirement. In the concuding para of the etter he wrote, May the baance of your ife be sepnt in Manavaseva! Those inspiring words made me think, 'Trees are giving shadow and fruits, rivers are giving water, agricutura fieds give crop of grain, what shoud we give?'. I reaized that I coud give reief and happiness in my own humbe way to needy and poor. Once the thought firmed up, Bhagwan took over and brought me to the Super Speciaty Hospita. Sri.T.S.Venkatraman, who was in-charge of the Sevada group, was hesitant initiay to aot me active duties ( as I had waked in with my waking stick as support!). But he was convinced with my sincerity and capacity to perform reguar sevada duties and sent me to Super Speciaty Hospita. That was in I have not ooked back since then and have been serving for 24 hours, seven days a week. On the first day, when I entered the Hospita, I was greeted by Lord Hanumanji and he has been supporting me and heping me to keep heathy and active. I get up at 3.30 a.m daiy and after bath and pooja to Hanuman am at the Q Compex at 6.00 a.m to receive the patients and guide them. After the duties are over at Q compex by a,m, I go around the hospita checking the avaiabiity of Sevadas at every duty point. Over the years, I have been given the responsibiity of receiving the Sevadas from the Districts and Bangaore City, aot them duty points and take a necessary steps to make their stay at the Sevada Retiring Bock comfortabe. With the 40 years of banking experience, I aso assist the Organisation in maintaining various accounts and submit reguar reports on the receipts and payments as we as sevada depoyment. My wife inspired in me true ove and devotion and Bhagwan has taken it to a higher eve of Universa Love and brotherhood. Everyone cas me 'unce' and treat me with ove and respect. At the same time, I am strict and uncompromising when it comes to maintaining discipine and commitment to duty. Sometimes I become unpopuar because of this, but I accept criticsm aso with the same humiity. Bhagwan has given me the strength. 30

35 ANNUAL REPORT Over the ast 12 years hundreds of Sevada brothers and sisters have inter acted with me and have come cose to me. I was the edest of tweve chidren in my famiy. Thanks to Bhagwan, my famiy has become sti arger with 1200 brothers and sisters! I have maintained fairy good heath a these years. But I did have some testing moments. In 2005, diagnosed with Arthritis, I was schedued for knee surgery at Sri Sathya Sai Genera Hospita. But before surgery, whie reviewing my medication, they noticed that I was taking Ecospirin, and asked me to get cardiac cearance. During the check up for the cearance, it was noticed that three of my heart vaves were bocked. With Bhagwan's grace, I underwent the heart surgery and subsequenty the two knee surgeries. I reaize that my whoe ife has been spent in training me for the Seva I was to render here in Swami's hospita and that he ony guides our ives. Every time I interact with Sevada brothers and sisters I te them to be cean and honest and adhere stricty to the reguations aid down by Bhagwan. Every day brings new experiences at the Hospita. The faces of suffering patients who come with great hopes in their hearts and their beaming faces as they return home happiy after surgery wi aways inger with me. Once, a ady from Orissa came with her one and a haf year od baby, much beyond the admission hours. She was so poor that she was wearing torn shabby saree. Seeing her pight I took her to the Reception bock and requested them to register her. They aso agreed and after examination, the chid was immediatey operated upon. She came to me with foded hands and tears in her eyes to thank me. I am gratefu to Bhagwan that he has made me experience such oving, unforgettabe moments.
