CALL TO WORSHIP God calls us to the mountaintop. God, we come! Christ invites us to the place where the Spirit s presence is revealed in power and glory. God, we are here! The Spirit offers us a revelation of the Living Lord. As we worship this day, open our eyes to your presence, O God, and transfigure our lives to mirror your own! PRAYER OF THE DAY (in unison) Almighty God, the resplendent light of your truth shines from the mountaintop into our hearts. Transfigure us by your beloved Son, and illumine the world with your image through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Glory and honor, Praise, adoration, Now and forever more be Thine! AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (in unison) I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. 3 We Share in Christ s Meal WORDS OF CONSECRATION THE LORD S PRAYER (in unison) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen DISTRIBUTION OF HOLY COMMUNION (All who believe that Christ died for their sins are welcome at the Table of Grace. Children who do not yet receive Communion receive a blessing. If you prefer grape juice, it is the clear liquid in the center of the tray.) Break Now The Bread of Life (LBW #235) 1) Break now the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, As once You broke the loaves beside the sea; Beyond the sacred page I seek You, Lord; My spirit waits for You, O living Word! 2) Bless Your own truth, dear Lord, to me, to me, As when You blest the bread by Galilee; Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall; And I shall find my peace, my all in all. 3) You are the Bread of Life, O Lord, to me. Are you growing weary in the struggle of it all? Jesus will help you when on His name you call.
