SCRIPTURE REFLECTION: After healing the blind man in today s Gospel Jesus told him to go, to be on his way. But the man decided to follow Jesus. Being a disciple of Jesus is a choice. The stewardship way of life likewise involves a choice, in fact many choices. We choose to be grateful, we choose to live generously, and we choose to trust that God will always provide for our needs. These are three choices central to the stewardship way of life. What choices will we make this week that give witness to our decision to follow Christ? International Catholic Stewardship Council World Mission Sunday October 18th Pope Francis writes Mission is part of the grammar of faith, something essential for those who listen to the voice of the Spirit who whispers Come and Go forth. Those who follow Christ cannot fail to be missionaries. Our diocesan family joins our brothers and sisters around the world on Mission Sunday, responding to the voice of the Spirit, we connect with our world on mission: with Africa, where six million children receive an education in some 16,000 churchrun schools,..with Asia, where those who are sick are provided with care at 5,000 Catholic hospitals and clinics and..with the Americas, where catechists travel in remote areas to bring the good News of God s great love to families. It is a one day trip on Saturday, January 16, 2016 The bus will leave Holy Cross at 6:00am and return by 8:00pm.
