Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. - Galatians 6:9-10 Lending Hope Parents live in fear of the day the cape comes off - when a child learns we can t fix everything. When Mandy Harvey lost her hearing, her father Joe (LCS 09) could do little more than demonstrate his trust in the work of our heavenly Father, and encourage Mandy to do the same. A shared love of music, a crusty celebrity, and a faithful God, led to a remarkable new chapter in their family story. 4 Sharing Wisdom Parenting a child is challenging, but parenting hundreds of other people s children surely must be a calling. For the last fifteen years, Caryn Collins has helped hundreds of young women cross the threshold into adulthood only to have her success replaced with another crop of freshmen. Hers is a story of practicality, sympathy, patience and a lot of laundry. Yet even the smallest action can have global Kingdom impact. When one host family introduced their foreign exchange student to Christ, they would have been hard pressed to imagine how their actions would lead current LCU student Yu Yamada to experience a family of believers that transcends country and culture. 20 RESTORER 1
