On Sun Sep 30 we show The Keys to the Kingdom (1945) starring the always inspiring Gregory Peck in a story about a young Irish priest overcoming suspicions in China. Spiritual Enrichment Series (JPII meeting room) Monday, October 1 & 8, we will again look to dynamic speaker and theologian, Bishop Robert Barron. He will walk us through all the parts of the Liturgy and give us insights that will transform us on this most privileged and imtimate encounter with Our Lord Jesus Christ. You should deliver your perishable items directly to St Mark s on Fri. More than 50 families are assisted each week in rotation (200 families per month). Food distributed each Fri at 9:30 am at St Mark s (159 Harbor Way at Bissell, Richmond 94801). SCHOOL EVENTS AND NEWS ( ( ) (Willows Day Care ) From our School Principal Mr. Jojo de Guzman: Dear St. David School Families, Saturday was a great example of what makes St. David School thrive. From the families who helped plan the event, to those that started working the day before, to the ones that got to school early to set up, the ones who ran the food and game booths, and the ones who helped clean up -- family after family volunteered with a smile and a good attitude to make our Fall Festival a success. We must share a special thank you to the chairs and committee for leading the event: co-chairs Sandra Ramirez and Veronica Mejia; and committee members Gabriella Zaragoza and Khari Lovan. 5 Keynote Speakers: Professor Rabbi Daniel Sperber studied for rabbinic ordination at Yeshivot Kol Torah in Israel, earned a Bachelors degree in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a doctorate from University College, London in Classics, Ancient History and Hebrew Studies. In 1968 he joined the faculty of Bar-Ilan University, as a teacher in the Talmud department. For the past eight years, he has served as President of the Jesselson Institute for Advanced Torah Studies. For two decades he has served as a representative of the Israel Ministry of Religion and the Foreign Office in matters of interreligious dialogue. Reverend Monsignor Guy Massie serves as the chairperson and Vicar for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. He is also the pastor at Sacred Hearts and St. Stephen Church in Brooklyn. Massie received his master s degree in Judaic Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington.
