2 What is she doing in Denmark? Af: Tove Kirkebye Poulsen Yes, you may be asking yourself this! I haven t lived in Denmark in more than 15 years, and suddenly I find myself here, back at Sjellebro, where it all began with a DTS in After my dear mother got a blood clot last year, I came to realize that I needed to move closer. It ended up being 11 years in Sweden for me, and now I m excited to see what God will do with me in Denmark. God is saying: Stand up where you were brought up, which I am trying to find out what it means. The vision and passion are the same: to see people find their calling and vision in life and to see them equipped for their spcific mission so that the earth can be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Hab. 2:14) To me, Europe is a little like the parable of the prodigal son. As a continent we have strayed from home and left many of the biblical values that formed and created Europe. Values that brought us out of poverty and misery. We still reap the fruit of these values, but in letting go of these values, we are cutting off the branch that we are sitting on. I would like to be someone who reminds people about that branch. Leadership in Sweden has been passed on to younger leaders, who I continue to assist and advise. This has turned into many exciting and educational tasks, but is also challenging. It is a relief to no longer be responsible for a large group of employees and students, 48 acres of fields and forests, an infinite amout of bricks and old wooden houses to be painted, and who knows how many mice. Other than that I miss Sweden, which will always have a big place in my heart. My address says Sjellebro, but I work mainly internationally Since last year, my role has been a Convener for YWAM Northern Europe. I am leading a small team of 5, who stand together as YWAM Northern Europe. We are putting in new leaders and trying to

As a Convener, I m automatically in the European Leadership Team, which requires some travel. University of the Nations (UofN) In addition, I am very involved in the visionary leadership of our global University of the Nations, where we are experiencing strong growth at the moment. I do some teaching at DTS-es and other YWAM schools, and speak in churches, etc. A part of the time also goes to staff training of UofN employees. I am also studying and will soon start my PhD in Discipleship and Christian Formation. My roles, as well as the teaching opportunities, are flexible and creative in nature and are good for my gifting and equipping. Practically this means that I will travel more, but less with Stena Line between Denmark and Sweden, and that my little house in Sweden is now being rented out as a summer house. Tell me if you are interested. I am looking forward to the growth and the fellowship at Sjellebro. It smells like spring at YWAM Denmark, and I feel priviledged also to get to serve on the board here, along with other small tasks. I hope I can be a help and inspiration. 4 News from Sjellebro By: Mette Rønfeldt Poulsen Evangelism and prayer in the capital city In April the DTS was in Copenhagen. The topic of the week was evangelism, so the whole team went over to the capital city for five days for both theory and practice at Soli Deo Gloria in the middle of Copenhagen. We talked with people and asked many if we could pray for them, and there were many good conversations during the week. Going back to Jutland, the mood was good, and the team had some good experiences in reaching out.

5 Outreach destination: Macedonia & Romania We went on the 21st of April for two months with the desire to be a blessing and a help, something we have really enjoyed. The first month we were in Macedonia and worked with muslims, children s ministry and supported the local Christians. We are now in Romania and working with local churches, YWAM, youth groups and gypsies. We come home on June 16th, where we ll have a week of evaluation of outreach as well as preperation for the next step that each one will take when the DTS ends. We finish on June 22nd with a party where we would like to invite you to celebrate with us. We would deeply appreciate if you would be our supporting troop and stand with us in prayer. 6 News From Copenhagen By: Siemona Kongsgaard and Jakoba Sevdahl Refine Before Easter we finished our second Refine course in Copenhagen. Refine is an open discipleship class where anyone is invited who wants to join in to dive deeper into a topic from DTS. Over the four weekends we had on average people gathered to eat, worship and receive teaching. Many truths were planted in our hearts and our prayer is that these truths will continue to have an impact on our relation with our Heavenly Father and how we live our daily lives here in Copenhagen. Preparing for Spring More and more around the world are hearing about our place in Copenhagen. So we are getting contacted by several outreach teams. We have received teams from Paris, Bergen, Kona and Skien. As we house these teams, it is important that our facilities are accomodating and functional. So we have spent some time getting dorm number two ready. t Outreach teams

We are completely overwhelmed by the generosity of these people! Thank you so much!

They helped us take the old kitchen down and and set the new one up for us. They also gave us a hand with laying the floor and asked their network for help with things like plumbing and the like. We are completely overwhelmed by the generosity of these people! Thank you so much! We are so excited to see the body of Christ in action. We all have different abilities, and when we gather, we can do so much more. God has made us for fellowship. If you would like to join, or know someone who would, we would love to hear from you. You can help paint, do small carpentry projects around the building or help with new lighting installations; which is what we are working on for the time being. 8 New staff at Sjellebro By: Alex Hansen Alex Hansen My full name is Alexander Christopher Hansen. You probably think I am Danish - and I am as I have a Danish father and an American mother - but I grew up in Texas, USA, and until the age of 20 that is where I have always lived. At university in Denmark I became interested in living in Denmark two years ago when God put my Danish family on my heart. None of them had a relationship with God, and I couldnt bear the idea that they are separated from God. In the summer of 2016, when I turned 21, I went to Copenhagen to live with my aunt and uncle and their two daughters and do research at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet. It was in this period that I first visited YWAM. YWAM Copenhagen was having a worship night, and a Swedish DTS team was there. Being a disciple After finishing university that December, I wanted to get more training in discipling others. But first, I had to focus on being a disciple myself, so I took my DTS at YWAM Sjellebro in February Alex in the kitchen at Sjellebro Having a conversation with God One of the ways that this has changed my life is a new view of how I communicate with God and listen to what He says. I still have more to learn. I want talking with God to become more natural, and I want to be continuously more aware of His presence. In the last year I have also become more aware of God s Spirit in me. For example, in the DTS teaching I don t only focus on what the teacher gives intellectually, but also what I feel God says and emphasizes. In January 2018 I became part of staff at YWAM Sjellebro something I felt God leading me to. I am now staff on the DTS at the base. At the same time, I feel like it is a time of personal training and equipping through serving. Occasionally I have the opportunity to lead and teach on the DTS, and I try to be present with the students and trust in what God s doing in them.
