Jesse is a member of the Anglers Sunday School Class and the most meaningful ministry that he is involved in, is teaching Sunday School. He prays for wisdom for our leaders and congregation. ABBY BOERNER has been a member of First Baptist Church for 2 ½ years. She is widowed and has two children, Casey and McKenzie. Abby is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class. Her first love is singing in the Adult Choir. Abby prays for our congregation to serve God in the way He wishes and to honor Him in all we do. She also prays that the hurting in our community can count on our church as a resource and sanctuary. DERRICK COGGIN has been a member of First Baptist Church since He is married to Gail and they have one son, Will. Derrick is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class. He is an active Stephen Minister, sings in the Adult Choir and is a part of our Security Team. Derrick prays for our staff, our ministers, our leadership and our church as a whole. He is also concerned for our members who are ill. COUNTE COOLEY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 36 years. He is married to Jackie and they have three children. Counte is a member of the Anglers Sunday School Class. His service as a deacon and president of the Anglers Class has been most meaningful to him. Counte prays that our church will continue to act like a church should act. MERCER CROOK has been a member of First Baptist Church for 9 years. He is married to Christina and they have two boys, Michael and Rory. Mercer is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. He loves being a part of the music ministry, either performing with the orchestra or as a soloist or in a small ensemble. Mercer prays for Christian harmony within the church, for those with illnesses or in grief and for him to be the kind of member that can lead others to Christ. BILL EARLY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 8 years. He is married to Cheryl and they have two children. Bill is a member of the Good Shepherd Sunday School Class and attends the Men s Monday Morning Bible Study. He prays for Christian harmony within our congregation and wisdom for our leadership. TAMI EASTERDAY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 13 years. She is married to Kent and they have 5 children. Tami is a member of the Sacred Conversations Sunday School Class. The music ministry is dear to her heart. She has been the director for Young Musicians and Music Makers. She loves teaching about Jesus through music. Tami has also been a supply pianist. She prays that our church would continue to minister in so many different ways to people who have some many different needs. She also prays that our members would walk humbly with our God and for our staff to have emotional, physical and spiritual energy. 1
2 SANDRA EDWARDS has been a member of First Baptist Church for 17 years. She is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is singing in the choir and participating in discipleship training. Sandra prays for discernment to know what the Lords wants His people to do and for the spiritual ability to follow where He leads. BENJAMIN GARNER has been a member of First Baptist Church for 2 years. He is married to Katherine and they have 2 children, Rosemary and Henry. Benjamin is a member of the Parents of Pre-Schoolers Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is working with Family Promise and leading small group discussions. Benjamin prays for the church to shine the light of Christ in the community and for each other. JAMES GILBERT has been a member of First Baptist Church for 18 years. He is married to Kara and has 9 children. James is a teacher in the Youth Ministry. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is teaching and Youth Mission Trips. James prays that our church would be a church filled with Grace. JESSICA GREEN has been a member of First Baptist Church for 24 years. She is married to Rocky and has 2 children. Jessica is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is working with the Foster Care Coalition and the Community Food Pantry. Jessica prays that our church will have the courage to love as Jesus loves and the desire to be directed by the Holy Spirit. ROCKY GREEN has been a member of First Baptist Church for 24 years. He is married to Jessica and has 2 children. Rocky is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is working with a group of Handymen from his Sunday School Class doing building/chores/landscaping for non-profits and others. Rocky prays that the Lord will provide guidance to our leadership through every situation that comes before them. JIM HARRISON is married to Amy and they have 2 children, William and James Michael. Jim works with the youth ministry during Sunday School. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is working with the youth because they are the next generation of the church and watching them grow spiritually so quickly is both amazing and rewarding. Jim prays for unity. We can all have different opinions on issues, but working together, we can all find common ground together. BAKER HILL has been a member of First Baptist Church for 12 years. He is married to Gail and has 2 children. Baker is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is teaching and participating in the Estes-Dozier missions support group. Baker prays for unity in the Spirit, for ministers and staff and for mission outreach. 2
3 JOHN HULSEY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 64 years. He is married to Cinda and they have four children and six grandchildren. John is a member of the Anglers Sunday School Class. He has been involved with the Youth Committee, the Adult Choir and the Building Committee. John prays for our church to provide the resources to support our Pastor, staff and members as we minister to our members, our community and the world as commanded by Jesus. RANDY JESSUP has been a member of First Baptist Church for 43 years. He is married to Amy and has 3 children. Randy s most meaningful involvement at First Baptist has been working with the children s and youth ministry, being on committees and working with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He prays that our church be dedicated to serving others through the message of Jesus, be a place where love and holiness overcome differences, and that our congregation be united in our message amid our diversity. JOHANNA KIEHL has been a member of First Baptist Church for 9 years. She is married to Brett Willis and they have 3 daughters. Johanna is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class and her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist has been leading First Grade Missions. She prays that our church would have compassion for ourselves and others, and that we would see that we are one body of Christ and that we would live as an expression of God s love. EDDIE KINSEY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 6 years. He is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is participating in the caring and giving ministries of his Sunday School class. Eddie prays that God will continue to bless our church and its missions. He also thanks God for His many blessings. KEN KIRKPATRICK has been a member of First Baptist Church for 30 years. He is married to Mary Beth. Ken is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvements at First Baptist has been the Stephens Ministry, being a greeter and his previous term as a Deacon. Ken prays for continued growth and unity, increased programs for our youth and for our entire pastoral staff, teachers, deacon body and employees. MARK LINDESH has been a member of First Baptist Church for 10 years. He is married to Nancy. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is being the co-leader of the ushers for the 8:30 am service. Mark prays that God will continue to bless our church and its members and that He provide the wisdom and strength for First Baptist to serve the community according to His will. KATHY LOVETT has been a member of First Baptist Church for 48 years. She is married to Lee and has 3 daughters. Kathy is the founder and co-director of the Grace Fellowship Sunday School Class. She has been a volunteer in many aspects of our church, (VBS, Committees, Teacher) but her most meaningful involvement was being the GA Director. Kathy continues to pray for our church to have a spirit of love, spiritual growth, service to each other, service to the community and service to the uttermost parts of the earth. 3
4 ANDY MADDOX has been a member of First Baptist Church since He is married to Tina and they have three sons, Will, Jake and Luke. Andy has been active in high school and college ministries and is always willing to teach Sunday School wherever he is needed. He also sings in the Adult Choir. Andy prays for wisdom, grace, love and courage for our leaders. TINA MADDOX has been a member of First Baptist Church for 27 years. She is married to Andy and they have 3 sons. Tina is a substitute teacher for several adult Sunday School Classes and her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist has been teaching College Sunday School and leading Women s Bible Studies. She prays that our church shows grace, encouragement and love to all people no matter what their challenges or stage of life s journey they are on. Tina would also hold up our pastor as he brings us God s word and touches so many lives inside and outside our congregation. BETHANY MAGNUS has been a member of First Baptist Church for 12 years. She is married to Matt and they have two children, Mary Beth and Mark. Bethany is a member of The Gathering Sunday School Class. Her service teaching children in the Preschool Sunday School and Choirs has been most meaningful to her. Bethany prays for Godly discernment and wisdom for our pastor and leadership and that we, the church, do not grow weary or distracted in sharing God s love. JENNIFER McCALL has been a member of First Baptist Church for 9 years. She is married to Josh and they have 3 daughters. Jennifer participates in the Sacred Conversations Sunday School Class and her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist has been working with Family Promise and teaching children on Wednesday nights. She prays that our church would love as Christ loves. JOSH McCALL has been a member of First Baptist Church for 9 years. He is married to Jennifer and they have 3 daughters. Josh teaches in the Sacred Conversations Sunday School Class and his most meaningful involvement in First Baptist has been working with Family Promise and teaching Sunday School. He prays that our church would have unity in our differences. ELLEN McALLISTER has been a member of First Baptist Church for 12 years. She is married to Tom and has 2 children, Will and Jessica. Ellen is a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist has been participating in the music ministry and helping with Family Promise. She prays for unity and for our church to show the love of Christ to all people and to collaborate with all churches in our area to serve the least of these who need our help and support. RICHARD (DICK) MECUM has been a member of First Baptist Church for 2 ½ years. He is married to Judy and they have eight children. Dick is a member of and/or teaches in the Kindred Spirits, Grace Fellowship and T. Richard Davis Sunday School Classes. He loves studying and teaching scripture. Dick prays that our church will walk in a manner worthy and pleasing to the Lord, bearing good fruit and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). He also prays that all we do is for the glory of Christ (1 Corinthians 10:31). 4
5 AMY MERCER has been a member of First Baptist Church for 8 years. She is married to Robert and they have one daughter, Kaitlyn. Amy is a member of The Gathering Sunday School Class and teaches in the Children s Ministry. The ministry that has her heart is the Pre-School Ministry. Amy prays that as a church and a part of God s greater family we would follow Christ s example of loving people into His Kingdom. MATT NIX has been a member of First Baptist Church for 40 years. He is married to Becky and they have two children, Cree and Witt. Matt has been involved in stewardship, capital fundraising, deacon service and as a Sunday school leader. Matt prays for the health of our church, our leadership, and our finances. He also prays for our community leadership and spiritual health. NANCY PAGE has been a member of First Baptist Church since She is married to Bob and they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Nancy is a member of the Koinonia Sunday School Class and is our Director of Sunday School. Her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist is singing in the Adult Choir, coordinating the Angel Tree at Christmas, being a Stephen Minister and volunteering for various committees. Nancy prays that our church will be built on a solid foundation of Biblical principles and also, be willing to reach out to all people no matter where they are on their journey. LYDIA PARK has been a member of First Baptist Church for 38 years. She is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Lydia s most meaningful involvement has been working with the youth, driving the bus for Promising Futures and helping with baptism and communion. She prays for church unity, for our ministers and that we serve and be in the will of God. Lydia also prays for our sick (physically and at heart). JOHN PEARCE has been a member of First Baptist Church for 16 years. He is married to Ina Mae and they have two children, John and Joy. John is a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. His most meaningful work in the church is teaching Sunday School. John prays that our church will display unity and Christ-like behavior. RICKY PUGH has been a member of First Baptist Church for 36 years. He is married to Lynn and they have two sons, Matthew and Justin. Ricky is a member of the Kindred Spirits Sunday School Class. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist has been working in the youth ministry. Ricky prays that our church would grow in harmony, peace and love and for God s strength for our community and world. KURT SCHULER has been a member of First Baptist Church for 7 years and is a widower. He is a member of the T. Richard Davis Sunday School Class and attends the Men s Monday Morning Bible Study. Kurts most meaningful activities are leading the Grief Share and being a member of the Emergency Response Ministry. He is also on the Planning Committee. Kurt prays that we continue to be a meeting place for the entire community. 5
6 CHERYL SHIPPEY has been a member of First Baptist Church for 4 years. She is married to Robert and they have 3 children. Cheryl is a member of the Oasis Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement has been working with Family Promise. Cheryl prays that we continue to be the hands of Christ, reaching out to a hurting world and leaning on each other, learning from one another and most of all, loving one another DAVID SHUMAKE has been a member of First Baptist Church for 16 years. He is married to Debbie and they have two sons. David is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. His most meaningful activities at First Baptist is attending the Monday Morning Men s Bible Study and assisting with the construction of the Living Christmas Tree. David prays for our church to have a servant s heart and to be humble in the work of the Lord. JAN SMITH has been a member of First Baptist Church since she was 10 years old. She is widowed and has two children. Jan is a member of the T. Richard Davis Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is being a part of the Sanctuary Choir, Sanctuary Handbell Ringers and working on the Flower Committee. Jan prays that our church members would realize how powerful prayer is as we lift up the needs of our congregation, our community and our own families. KAYANNE SMITH has been a member of First Baptist Church since she was 11 years old. She is the daughter of Jan Smith and has a rich family history at First Baptist Church. Kayanne is the assistant Sunday School Director. Her most meaningful involvement at First Baptist is being a part of the Sanctuary Choir and the Young Adult Ministry. Kayanne prays that we would continue to be a church that welcomes anyone to worship with us. She prays that our church shares the love of Christ, not only within the walls of our building, but also out in the community and the world. BLUE STILL has been a member of First Baptist Church for four years. He is married to Erin and they have two children, Benjamin and Jackson. His most meaningful involvement at First Baptist has been serving as an usher with his boys, his uncle-in-law (and his son-in-law) and his father-in-law (now deceased). Blue prays for continued strength and understanding, for lives to continue to be brought to the Lord through the many ministries that we offer and for all our leaders, especially Dr. Coates. PAM SWIFT has been a member of First Baptist Church for 6 years. She is married to Walter and they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Pam is a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and her most meaningful involvement in First Baptist is singing in the Adult Choir. She prays for Dr. Coates, our staff, deacons and members. She prays that as a church we continue to be a congregation of love that embraces all people, and that we continue to aid those less fortunate in our community. RHONDA THOMPSON has been a member of First Baptist Church for 33 years. She is married to John and they have two children and 3 grandchildren. Rhonda is a member of The Gathering Sunday School Class. Her most meaningful involvement at First Baptist has been working alongside several other couples to form and continue to lead a Sunday morning discipleship class for young families. Rhonda prays strength, wisdom and discernment for our pastor and church leadership.
