1 Richland Holiness Camp Meeting Messenger Richland, NY Evangelists: Camp Dates: August 11-21, 2016 Rev. Marc Sankey Rev. William Saxton Musicians: Children s Worker: Rev. & Mrs. Derek McIntire Mrs. Joyce Lambeth
2 2016 CAMP WORKERS Rev. Marc Sankey will travel to Richland Camp from Cincinnati, OH, where he is currently a General Evangelist for the Bible Methodist Connection. Saved and sanctified while at God s Bible College, he graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Education degree. Married in 1992, he and his wife Melody have 3 sons, Jordan (21), Cameron (18), and Logan (17). The Sankey s pastored for 13 years, spent 6 yrs. as missionaries in Mexico with Bible Methodist Missions, and he served as vice-president of Evangelistic Faith Missions 3½ yrs. While serving in Mexico he was attacked and nearly killed, but God miraculously spared his life. Born and raised on a farm in Brushton, NY, Rev. William Saxton travels to Richland from Lake Placid, NY. One of his early memories, which left a profound influence upon his life, are of his grandfather reading the Bible and praying. Saved at the age of 17, he then attended Salem Bible College where he met his wife Judy. Their home was blessed with 3 sons, and later with 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Pursuing his studies through the years he has a Masters degree and then a Doctorate from Bethany Theological Seminary. The Saxton s have pastored about 31 yrs., served as missionaries in Haiti 8 yrs. under the New York Pilgrim Holiness, and as missionaries 12 yrs. in Russia under Hope International Missions. Derek and Alanna McIntire return to Richland Camp from Middleburg, PA. Both are graduates of PVBI, Derek with a Ministerial degree, and Alanna with bachelor degrees in both Music Performance and Music Education, and both traveled with PVBI s Public Relations groups. Derek is currently working for IT Services and McIntire Ministries. Alanna has taught piano, college classes at PVBI, written several gospel songs, and recently published Hymnprovements. The McIntires have preached and/or sung for camps and revivals for 14 years. Married 16 years, their home is blessed with 3 sons, Dalyn (8), Daryl (6), and Dalton (4). Camp meetings don t just happen. Untold hours of love for the Lord and His work labor take place for months, sacrificial giving of money and needed items are a must, and prayer and fasting year round are of vital necessity. What will you give for the Lord and to see Richland Camp continue? 3 Generations Camp Board (John Case missing)
3 Richland Camp Finances by John Case I suppose of all who are serving on the Board of Richland Holiness Camp, I would be the most unqualified to address the area of finances. However, I have a deep concern for the future of our camp and if we keep spending our reserves, we will be in financial difficulty. Since being back from overseas, I have felt led of the Lord to give to Richland on a monthly basis as it is easier for me to budget monthly than to give in one lump sum yearly. I am wondering if there might be others who would consider joining me in this effort so that one half of the annual budget could already be in place before camp begins. It would work like this: 5 people giving $100. per month 5 people giving $50. per month 10 people giving $25. per month 20 people giving $10. per month Total amount would be $14, This would be a big boost to Richland Camp and would Glorify God. Think about it and ask God what He would have you do. Children s Meeting Money (25 Year Recap) The Camp Board has requested a list of purchases made with Children s Meeting Money since Mrs. Lambeth began teaching 25 years ago. The children saved all year for these projects. 5 PERSPECTIVE OF CAMP MEETING Richland Camp is a place where I can feel closer to God and seek help. It is also a place where I feel safe away from the outside world. I also love all the fellowship there is here. I look forward to coming all year. I have so many memories here. This is my 20th year here. I look forward to many more years. ~Russ M. The 1st time I remember attending Richland Camp was over 50 years ago. My Dad had taken me on a ride with him and we dropped by for an afternoon service. Then, attending camp became an annual event while I was growing up. Camp has always been a very special place to me. It is a time of hearing God s Word proclaimed, being challenged to reconnect, recommit and be restored. I enjoy seeing old friends and making new ones. I ve met many great people here who have pointed me to Jesus and have challenged me across the years to keep serving, loving and following Jesus. When I have been far away, I have prayed for Camp and its ministry, and I am here as often as I can be. Camp is a place of refreshing where the Lord showers His blessings on His people and we feel His presence. This is what has encouraged me in my life and is the legacy I want to pass down to my grandchildren ~ the legacy of faith in Christ and to make the truth of God s Word the bedrock for their lives. My calling is to help equip my grandchildren with an unshakable faith in shaky times. ~Deborah P. Camp to me means I learn more about God and meet new people, being with other Christians, learning, seeing old friends, and seeing young people love God and be happy. When I 1st came to camp I was scared of the unknown and then I met the Lambeth kids and Canfields and knew I was safe and in the loving arms of other Christians. Now I have grown into a Christian and love the Lord, and love being close to Him. Thank-you for being there for me. I love going to camp every year and I get very happy when camp comes. ~Bethann B.
6 Coming to camp is not only time off work but a time to spend with family. But, above all, it s a time of refreshing your relationship with God. This is an opportunity to rest your mind from the normal daily activities and open our hearts to absorb the awesomeness of God. To feel the great power, and yet at the same time, the most gentle of touch on our hearts. Seeing my children having fun and still learning about Jesus is something that is very important to me as a father. I pray often that they will feel the beckoning of the Holy Spirit and give their life to God; this would be so wonderful. God has something special for all of us if we just follow and listen (More easily said than done.). Oh, God, help me to do your will. ~Jonathan B. We sing and play games at Children s Meetings. It s fun! ~Ben (5) Richland Camp brings back many of my earliest childhood memories. It was always a time of fun, laughter, family, food and long services. Oh, and puddles! One of my 1st memories was splashing in the puddles with my boots. Now I m a mom telling them to get out of the puddles. Ha! I remember 1st being saved at age 11 with Abigail White. I told Grandma Blowers I was on cloud 9 and the sky was brighter. Over the years of beautiful memories God has dealt with me many times at Richland Camp. He has touched my spirit with His at Richland Camp. I have learned and grown as a Christian. I have determined; settled the question; drawn closer to my Savior. Now I bring my children to the place of quiet where we are secluded from the world in hopes that they will follow my God, our God. That the heritage of holiness will be passed on. Richland Camp to me means rest, renewal, re-connection. The world will never understand why we go to a place where our entertainment is singers & preachers, and the lifestyle primitive. But for us who long for the camp meeting time again we welcome the seclusion, for our souls to feel the fire of God s presence, to leave the camp better, and be more prepared for the future with God centered in our lives and hearts. I pray Richland will continue year after year. That it will become a special place in each heart for the connection of each of ours with God ~ until we meet again at Jesus feet. ~Rebekah B.
