2 2015 CAMP WORKERS As a senior in high school I went through a period of deep conviction as God dealt with my heart. I clearly knew, from my youth, that I was called to preach. My parents took me to church, and I wanted to serve the Lord, but I had to make a definite choice for myself. God, in his goodness brought me to a crisis decision on January 2, I will never forget that Sunday evening. I stepped out during dismissal prayer and gave my life to the Lord in the little Wesleyan Methodist Church in Luciusboro. It was the greatest thing I ever did. I continue to reap the benefits of that choice to this day. A 1970 graduate of Hobe Sound Bible College, Rev. Joseph L. Smith and his wife, Lois, have been married 46 years, have 6 children and 11 grandchildren. They served 16 years with FEA Missions in the Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. They then served as pastor at Thomasville, NC for 16 years, traveled in evangelism 6 years. and have been pastoring the Indiana, PA, Wesleyan Methodist Church for the past 5½ years. Raised in Indiana, PA, Rev. Ed Overdorff was saved at the age of 16 and entirely sanctified at the age of 17. He attended Allegheny Wesleyan College then transferred to, and graduated from, Hobe Sound Bible College with a major in piano and music. Married in 1979, he and his wife, Nila, have three daughters and five grandchildren. They taught music at Union Bible College, God s Bible School and Allegheny Wesleyan College for approximately 30 years. February 1, 1996, Rev. Overdorff received his call to preach from the Lord. He was in evangelism 3 years and is currently pastoring his 2nd church at Pittsfield, PA, giving piano lessons and substitute teaching in the public schools. The Cooley Family will be traveling to Richland from Sunbury, PA. Tim is a 1997 graduate of PVBI with an Advanced Diploma in Christian Music, as well as Pastoral Ministries courses following graduation. He is currently Registrar at Penn View Bible Institute and active in their church music ministry. Amy also attended PVBI and is currently a busy stay-at-home mother. Married in 1997, the Cooley offspring are Katrina ~ 17, Brandon ~ 15, Alicia ~ 10, Josiah Roof ~ 9, Anthony ~ 2 (Taken to Heaven 2/20/15), Nathaniel ~ 1.

3 100th Anniversary of Tabernacle Commemorative service, Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:30 The special meeting of the Richland Holiness Camp Meeting Association was held on the campground Aug. 31, 1914, for making arrangements for building a tabernacle. Moved, seconded and carried that we build a tabernacle. Moved, seconded and carried that there be a committee of four, of which the President (R.R. Humphrey) shall be one and act as chairman with all power as to dimensions and construction; the President appointing the other three. The following were appointed: J.M. Rancher, W.B. Clement, and Bro. Hunt. At the time of the building of the tabernacle, when the building committee was considering plans, they visited several camps to get help for a plan for the building, but none of them seemed to meet the need. Bro. J.H. Orton, who had charge of the building, tells how the plan for the tabernacle, as it now stands, were given to him in a vision or dream at night. Tabernacle inside.

Jerry Lambeth President Platform Manager Richland Camp, one of the oldest Holiness Camps in the state, has always stood for the high standards of the true holiness people, and we have no desire or intention of lowering our standards. Our rules require that all people staying on the Camp Grounds are to comply with the rules of the camp. OUR CAMP STANDARD No cooking or fires of any kind allowed in the dormitories. No smoking on the grounds. Televisions and movies are not allowed on the grounds. Dogs and cats cannot be brought on the grounds or permitted to occupy trailers, tents, or cottages. Nothing is to be sold or distributed on the grounds except through the office or book store. Children are to be in the tabernacle or their cabin/room during services. Ladies, wearing of shorts, pants or mini-skirts by those rooming on the camp premises is prohibited. Men are requested to wear shirts and pants, and ladies to wear hose. 5 YOUTH PERSPECTIVE OF CAMP MEETING A year hasn t passed that I haven t been to Richland Holiness Camp, and every year it grows in meaning. It used to be a time to see friends, play volleyball, and fellowship, but has grown into a spiritual safe haven. A place where God s presence is seen in every aspect. Richland has become a place I know is different from everyday life, where you can focus on the more important issues in life. -Levi B.- It has been so good to be at Richland again! The services have been such a time of refreshment and rejuvenation. As I go back to secular college, it is strengthening and encouraging to be in God s presence and hear his word preached. -Emily C.- Camp has, for many years, been one of my favorite places to go. From services, to seeing friends, to playing games, to just all the great times I ve had at camp, these times and memories are some of my fondest. As I move on in life, going to God s Bible College, and wherever else God has in store, I truly hope Richland camp will continue to be a part of my life. I thank God for this camp and all that it has done for me, whether through messages, singing, friends, or good times. God has used this place in many ways to be a blessing in my life. -Joshua W.- I remember coming here for the 1st time when I was 12, knowing no one. I was put in Rm. 7 in the girls dorm and all the girls were so nice. Then camp turned into a safe haven; I came here to get away. It was all fun. Now that I m older, I go to work week and now know what goes into a camp this size. Camp is not only fun, but a blessing as well. The respect I have for the workers is un-measurable. With camp coming to an end it is even harder to make the transition to reality. I know my relationship with God got some well needed stitches here at camp, and I thank Him for that. -Shirley C.- After a year at a secular grad school, it has been so wonderful to be in such a good atmosphere! Christian fellowship and scriptural teaching is an invaluable part of our walk with God, and Richland is a place where both are in abundance. -Evangeline C.- I have been coming to camp for many years now and each year brings new memories and spiritual growth. Camp has always been a highlight for me and I look forward to it every year! This fall I plan on getting into the Christian film industry and am excited to see how God will lead and guide me as I aim to point people to Christ through the gifts God has given me. Through Richland camp I

6 have many great Christian friends and it s comforting to know I have them praying for me as I set out on this new adventure. I look forward to seeing how camp will impact countless others for Christ, as it has in my own life! -Lucas W.- Many wonderful memories made at Richland Camp! Living the Christian life, experiencing the God of love, sharing many a laugh! Camp meeting means more each year and I am so thankful to have this camp meeting to attend every summer! It is so much fun to see the little kids - the next generation of campers - grow into the camp terrors we USED to be. We still do our share of pranks, but are becoming more spiritual and less naughty each year. God is truly doing miracles in my generation! -Elizabeth C.- Richland has been the site of many battles won in my life, and the catalyst for some deep, deep periods of spiritual growth. Having finally phased out of being a young person, it thrills my soul to see new generations of young people excited about serving God! That is probably my favorite part of coming to camp these days - seeing all the amazing young people and watching what God is doing in their lives. -Mandy- NEW DIRECTOR Our newest director is Harvey Burnham, a retired rural letter carrier out of Watertown for 35 years, as well as a saw mill worker. A Gideon over 38 years, holding different offices over the years, he had the privilege of distributing many Bibles. Saved from his sins at 14 yrs. of age, he was a member of the Adams, NY Free Methodist Church, then transferred his membership to Pierrepont Manor Pilgrim Holiness Church. Harvey s interest have been his Gideon work, church, camp meeting, working in the woods, making maple syrup, camping, and in recent years making maple popcorn at camp meeting and farm markets. Harvey and his wife, Ruth, were married in 1958, have 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren. Mr. & Mrs. Burnham by the back of their van with their popcorn machine.
