Anointing of the sick If you foresee a surgery or procedure, contact the rectory to make arrangements to receive the Sacraments of the Anointing of the sick and Holy Communion before your hospital visit. Communion to the homebound For those unable to attend Mass due to illness or disability, arrangements can be made to receive Holy Communion weekly by an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Please contact the rectory. Emergencies In the event of an emergency, which requires the attention of a priest, please contact the rectory at any time. Follow the instructions on how to contact a priest. Please notify the rectory, so that the priests are aware of the situation and can assist as appropriate. Page 2-098

6 Also, Marybeth, is the church basement available for use on Sunday, December 20 at around 6 pm for caroling? LMK before I put the ad in the bulletin. By now, I hope you have noticed that our worship sites each have an AED. If you haven t noticed, please go looking for them. If someone tells you to get the AED, you will want to know where it is. There are signs pointing to their locations. As promised, I have held 2, Hands Only CPR, classes. We now have an additional 14 people who are familiar with both, Hands Only CPR, and the workings of the AED. I am offering An Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED training session on July 28 from 8 am to 12 pm. Location will be the church basement or the Schneider Center; to be determined. It will be a very relaxed atmosphere. We can bring snacks and drinks to share. The training is very interactive. You ll be watching a video, practicing the particular skill you just watched, and then using it in a pretend scenario. Then, another skill will be learned, and you will practice it and use it in a pretend scenario, until before you know it you ve passed the course! There are no written exams. I can take up to 10 participants: Must be at least 14. Get a friend; come spend a summer Saturday morning learning how to save a life! Please let me know by this Friday, July 20, if you are interested. If there are more than 10, I will hold another class, or see if I can get another instructor to help. Also, please let the ushers know if you are already CPR and AED certified, so we can start keeping a list and know who to go to if needed.
