Our famous PIT BARBECUE dinner consists of beef, ham lamb, beans, potatoes, bread, milk and coffee. The PRAISE BAND CONCERT featuring contemporary music in the worship center. The LORD S ACRE AUCTION includes handmade quilts, afghans, crafts, hay, firewood, and other donated items. 15TH ANUUAL 5K WALK /10 K RUN on the back roads of Powell Butte, with aid stations and water stands. Lord's Acre Sausage Making Saturday, October 13, :30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. At Cinder Butte Meat Company 197 NW O'Neil Way, Redmond (Jct. of Hwy 97 and O'Neil Way) **We want to have a couple of shifts, one from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and another from 11:30 to 4:30 p.m. We will use the overlap to transition from one crew to the other. Don't feel like you have to be a professional meat cutter to participate as there are several tasks available that don't require meat cutting skills. 4 MARRIAGE CLASSES PLAN NOW to participate in our Annual Project Love Food Drive Sunday November 11th, 2018 We will fill the stage with food items to help the needy in the community! We start with fellowship, have a devotion and prayer request time and then break into the two group for the remainder of the time. Operation Christmas Child Now is the time to start your Operation Christmas Child boxes!! Summer toys, shoes and clothing on sale and get your school supplies while on sale. It is a great time to start looking for items for your box! Remember NO TOOTHPASTE and NO CANDY!! These items are no longer allowed and will be taken out at the Processing Center if they are put in boxes!! ALSO the cost for sending a box is $9. If you would like to track your box it is available by purchasing your label online anytime at: Collection Date is November is Sunday November 11th NEW! OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD plastic shoes boxes!! Cost is $2, if you are interested in purchasing a plastic OCC box, let me know. You can still use wrapped shoe boxes or OCC cardboard boxes that we will have available. Questions?? 5 Food Handler Certifications Needed Lord s Acre needs at least one person with a Food Handler Certification at each site where food is prepared or sold. Certification may be acquired on line at: emain.aspx?state=oregon 1. On the left side are your options for watching a video, studying, taking the test. 2. Follow steps to either open your account or create an account 3. Will need to use a credit card...prepaid cards and checks do not work. FYI: When registering online, check that you are currently unemployed. Cost will be $10 after you pass the test. Certification is good for 3 years. Please leave a copy in the office. *If you already have one please bring us in a copy. Thank you! Lord s Acre Preparations Help Needed in Many Areas November Dates to Put on Your Calendars- Lord s Acre Wednesday Oct. 31 -Rolling and baking pie shells. Thursday Nov. 1st -Cinnamon Rolls Making 9:30am. We will need helpers from 9:30 until 5 pm. We do potluck - bring something to share, an apron, and a BIG rolling pin if you have one. Can bring kids, but no organized child care. Friday Nov. 2nd - Pumpkin Pie Day at 8am. Come and help with Pumpkin Pies call Valerie R. at (541) if you can come and help! Friday Nov. 2nd- Cream Pies 3pm Helpers Always Appreciated. Come and help! Friday Nov. 2nd - Helpers Needed All Day- Cleaning of the pie shed, coffee (cleaning pots and setting up area) Country Store set up in the morning. Bring a potluck item and stay all day. October is Clergy Appreciation Month Clergy Appreciation Month is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors and pastoral families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication and multiple blessings provided by these special people. The perfect time to commit to praying for, and encouraging our pastors on a regular basis. Figure out what you can do personally to recognize and honor these leaders. A simple card, and invitation to lunch, a promise to pray for them make wonderful statements. We appreciate our Pastors!! Communion Prep Help Needed! Would you like to find a place to serve in the church? We have several communion preparation spots to fill. For 8 & 10 am, 8am service is especially NEEDED!! You would do this 4 times a year. You fill communion cups and set out with the communion bread and pick up when the service is over! Interested??? Call Shana P. or or mark on a Connection Card you are interested! Lord s Acre Breakfast Sausage Making Come one, come all, to the sausage making day. Saturday, October 13 from 7 am to 4 pm. Come all day or come for a few hours; all help is appreciated. No experience necessary. Last year the middle schoolers outshined the high schoolers and the old guard, so let s see who s up for the challenge this year! Lord s Acre BBQ Animal Donations If you are planning to have beef, hogs or lambs to donate for the Lord s Acre BBQ and Meat Department sales, the kill dates have been set at Butcher Boys in Prineville as follows: Beef the week of October Hogs and lambs the week of October For more information or to make sure Clay knows you have any ready and available, please contact him at Pick-up and delivery arrangements can be made if you need that assistance. Lord s Acre BBQ Meat Preparation Lord s Acre is Saturday, November 3 this year. The Saturday before, October 27, is the day we get all the roasts and hams ready for the BBQ, and when we package the steaks, chops and ground beef for sale in the Meat Department. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 27 to come and help get the prep work completed. Again, no experience necessary; we ll get you all trained up! GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after loosing a loved one. The group is facilitated by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead. We know it hurts and we want to help! This is a separate class from the Loss of a Spouse, but those who have lost a spouse would gain more insight by taking this class. All Are Welcome!
