3 It s a play date for moms! Join us Childcare available All mothers of babies through kindergarten age children are welcome. MOPS is an international organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women become the best moms that they can be. MOPS meets the second Thursday of the month, September May, at FBC Columbia, located at 626 W Bottom Avenue. (the church will be relocating to Valmeyer Road later this year) MOPS Fee: $51 per year Moppets Fee: $18 per child Morning MOPs meets 9:00 11:15am Night MOPS meets 6:30 8:00pm For more information about MOPS at FBC, or to register, mopsofcolumbia@hotmail.com Be you, Bravely is designed to help us focus on making the choices that could create the most good in our lives, help us to step into healthy risk and to do it in the context of community where we can cheer one another on. It takes courage to ask brave questions and even more courage to search for the answers. We are so excited to journey alongside you this year as we ask one another what it means to Be you, Bravely. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19 MOPPET WORKERS NEEDED MOPPETS is the children s counterpart program of MOPS. MOPPET workers care for, love and encourage the babies through kindergarten age children of MOPS moms during monthly meetings. Through carefully planned activities, the children grow spiritually, socially, and creatively. MOPS meets the second Thursday of each month, September - May, 9:00-11:15am For more information or to volunteer, contact Tami Bonnell

4 Dear FBC Columbia, Thank you so much for sharing your Pastor and his family with Evanston Baptist Church for a week this month. We were instructed and encouraged by your pastor s preaching of Psalm 23, Acts 2:42-47, and numerous other texts. Jonathan s love for God, for the church, and for the spread of the Gospel is contagious. You are blessed to have him as your Pastor! Yours In Christ, Scott Kelly Jeremiah 3:15 Dear Church Family, I was so blessed by your outpouring of love to me at my surprise birthday celebration. Thank you to all who attended, to all who brought delicious food, and for the gifts. Travis

7 Christian Activity Center East St. Louis, Illinois Caring For Kids In East St. Louis July 2, 2014 Dear First Baptist Church of Columbia, Thank you for providing Monteesha (8), Chis (8), Terrion )19), Airyana (11), and Jada (6) thrilling weeks of summer camp this July! Your $ gift is giving them good memories to offset bad; the opportunity to hike, swim, boat, and worship in the quiet of nature. You re providing entire weeks of three square meals a day, deep night time sleep, and lots of attention from grownups! Camp is a precious moment in childhood for us all. It has special implications for children in East St. Louis. Esteem is built through high-ropes experiences, canoeing, and rock climbing. And camp gives our kids faith experience that knit into their fiber for life. Our god is a gracious God. He loves to lavish. He loves to give. He loves to use people like you who serve and bring pride and hope to His babies here. On their behalf, we thank you. Thank You! Gratefully yours, Rev. Chet Cantrell and the CAC Staff
