Over the years, God has blessed us to be able to build relationships with many in the community.

In fact, we have shared in the changing landscape of many of their lives.

Because of our familiarity with his mother, who attended the park services, she requested that I give the eulogy at his funeral.

This is just one example of the impact that witnessing the gospel has on an individual and community.

This effort is accomplished through street level person to person witnessing. The very nature of this approach challenges one to step out of their comfort zone. However, the reward of relief and encouragement on the faces of those we encounter far out ways any fear. I am convinced that all believers are called to share the gospel. Yet, I am disheartened at times when I see Christians sharing the gospel, but with a complete lack of compassion or sympathy. I give all glory to God for blessing Team Vision with people whose hearts are full of compassion. In fact, I would challenge anyone who is considering joining the outreach ministry to check their heart, that they have a love for lost and wounded souls. Over the years, God has blessed us to be able to build relationships with many in the community. However, we have overwhelmingly connected more so with the homeless and addicted population. In fact, we have shared in the changing landscape of many of their lives. One such case in particular involved the shooting death of a gentleman in Stanley Village several years ago. Because of our familiarity with his mother, who attended the park services, she requested that I give the eulogy at his funeral. Then, one year later when she died, the family called upon me one again. This is just one example of the impact that witnessing the gospel has on an individual and community. We are currently in the midst of our Preaching in the Park series which began in May and will continue through the fall. I believe this is our fifth year in which we conduct worship services in Brown's Park Sunday mornings at 9:30am. The overwhelming joy that we receive from giving hope to the hopeless far exceeds the sterile sedimentary setting found in many traditional worship services. I strongly encourage others to experience the liberty of serving in a church without walls, where there are no assigned seats and you can truly come as you are. We are still accepting donations of coffee, powdered tea and punch mix, sugar, snack cakes and sandwiches to share with the congregants of Brown's Park. God Bless Rev. The Story of Gideon Gideon asked God for a sign and God answered his request.

As Gideon entered the camp, Gideon over heard one soldier talking to another about a dream he had.

As the bread reached a tent it struck it with great force. The tent over turned and collapsed.

Gideon heard the dream; he worshiped God and was no longer afraid. The next day, Gideon assigned jobs for his 300 men.

Gideon then sent his people to the mountain top of the enemy s camp.

3 The Story of Gideon Gideon asked God for a sign and God answered his request. Still Gideon was afraid to lead Israel, so God sent Gideon to the camp of his enemy to hear what they were saying. As Gideon entered the camp, Gideon over heard one soldier talking to another about a dream he had. The solider said In my dream, I saw a loaf of bread tumbling towards our camp. As the bread reached a tent it struck it with great force. The tent over turned and collapsed. One of the soldiers turned to another and said, man I am not sticking around here. Gideon heard the dream; he worshiped God and was no longer afraid. The next day, Gideon assigned jobs for his 300 men. Some carried a torch, some played a trumpet, and some carried a cup. Gideon then sent his people to the mountain top of the enemy s camp. As the soldiers heard the blowing of the trumpets, the breaking of the pitchers and seen the light of the torches they began to get confused and crazy. God then said to all of Gideon s enemies, take your companion and flee. As they heard God s voice they all began to run away. The dream you all have just read is nothing else but Gideon and his God. Ingredients for 3 servings BBQ ROASTED SALMON 3 6oz salmon filets 4 teaspoon lemon zest ¼ cup lemon juice ¼ cup brown sugar I table spoon chili powder Cooking spray 1 table spoon vegetable oil 1& 1/2

4 Ingredients for 3 servings BBQ ROASTED SALMON 3 6oz salmon filets 4 teaspoon lemon zest ¼ cup lemon juice ¼ cup brown sugar I table spoon chili powder Cooking spray 1 table spoon vegetable oil 1& 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 & ¼ teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt Preparation Place salmon in a resalable bag and add lemon juice marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour Preheat oven to 400 degrees, Line a baking dish with aluminum foil, spray foil with cooking spray. Blend brown sugar, chili powder, and lemon zest, oil cumin, cinnamon and salt. Together in a blender until mixture until smooth. Remove salmon from bag, spread mixture over salmon and place in the prepared baking dish, bake in oven until fish flakes easily with a fork 12 to 15 minutes. Bro James Bostic

5 Pastor s Pen Dear Brothers & Sisters, Thank you for your prayers for our Mission Team during our travels for our Mission Trip to Malawi, Africa. It is a blessing to be back home among family and friends, along with all the comforts of home, but it was truly a blessing to visit our Christian brothers and sisters in Malawi, as well. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells his followers to teach all nations. It was an honor to share God's message with the people we encountered in Malawi. However, we also learned many lessons while there. For example, our gratitude was deepened when we visited a school with only one teacher for every 200 students. The dedication of the teachers and the attentiveness of the students was inspirational. The humility and joy of our hosts and friends in Malawi taught our hearts to be more gentle and kind. Not to mention the awe that was kindled within us while observing God's wild creatures roaming around in the beautiful African landscape - giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, nyalas, elephants... and more! In closing, I would like to give special thanks to my traveling companions: Rev. James Pressley, Diane "Ms. D" DeBoise, Caroline Fauntleroy, and my daughter Bria.
