In the evening (6:00 PM), come out to see the DVD The Last Supper. Filmed and dramatized entirely on authentic locations of the Holy Land and the Middle East, this is the most elaborate and extensive film ever made on the Last Supper. Jesus met with his twelve disciples in the upper room in Jerusalem, where they shared that historic meal. It was the traditional Jewish Passover Seder meal, which to this day symbolizes the deliverance from slavery to freedom and is commemorated as the Last Supper that the ancient Hebrews shared before leaving Egypt, on their long journey to the Promised Land. The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon! (Luke 24:34) 1

2 Easter Observance at Second Baptist Good Friday: March 30, 2018 At 6:00 PM, Pastor Dave will share a message entitled, The Seven Last Words of Christ. Had you stood in the crowd that day watching Jesus die, you would have heard Him utter seven astounding statements. Remarkable words, not only due to His duress, but because of the deep meaning they conveyed. In these seven last statements of Christ, we find a lasting example of how we must also think and live! Easter Sunday: April 1, 2018 Sunrise Service: At 7:30 AM Joel Black will be sharing the sunrise service. Come out and be blessed. Easter Sunday: April 1, 2018 Easter Breakfast: At 8:00 AM, come out and join your Church family for Easter breakfast. Pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee, and tea are all on the menu. Please bring a family dish to share (quiches, muffins, and donuts are all good choices). 8 In the Mix Sandy Steinhart has been attending SBC for a number of months beginning with the evening service. This month she was willing to contribute to our In The Mix recipe page. Give it a try! Whoopie Pies Sandy Steinhart Sift Together: 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. salt Cream Together: 1 c. Crisco 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sugar 2/3 c. cocoa 3 or 4 egg yolks Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with 2 cups milk. Drop by rounded teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Filling: 1 c. Crisco 2 egg whites 4 c. confectioner s sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt Beat until fluffy. Spread filling between cookies & there you are---a Whoopie Pie. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. (2 Thessalonians 3:10) 8

9 SBC Jr./Sr. High Youth Group Update Our Wednesday night Youth Group played a game that was a visual of navigating through life s distractions blindfolded, showing the need for guidance and direction. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
