2 A WORSHIP SERVICE FOR THE LORD S DAY TOLLING OF THE BELL WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Dr. Adkison PRELUDE Adagio L. Van Beethoven CALL TO WORSHIP One: Come, holy and gracious God, All: Place your story of love next to the worn fabric of our lives. One: Come, enter our hearts and bring peace. All: Bring restored hope, renewed energy and revived joy. One: Come to our troubled world. All: Lift the fallen, feed the hungry, set us to doing the things that make for peace. One: Teach us to sing and serve, care and rejoice. *HYMN #356 (All Verses) Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing LIFE IN CHRIST CALL TO RENEWAL (I John 1:8-9) Miffie Greer, Liturgist If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us confess our sins to God and to one another. PRAYER OF RENEWAL Miffie Greer, Liturgist Gracious and loving God, hear our prayer. We know we do not always live as we ought: We turn away from You, from our neighbor, and from our true selves. We know we dim Your light within us, With our pride, our self-righteousness, and our need for control We know that You love us, that you do not abandon us, and that again and again you call us back to You, back to love, back to grace, back to your light. Forgive us, we pray, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

3 GOOD NEWS OF FORGIVENESS Miffie Greer, Liturgist Friends, hear the Good News: the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting. Let us proclaim the Good News: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Alleluia! Amen. *GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. A men, A men. CHILDREN S SERMON Dr. Adkison PRAYER OF BLESSING & THE LORD S PRAYER Dr. Adkison Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. OFFERTORY Deep River Spiritual *DOXOLOGY Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. A-men.
