PRAYER OF RENEWAL Laura Miller, Liturgist Eternal and merciful God, we remember how you, through Jesus Christ, died on the Cross and were raised to a new life for us, your children. We humbly approach your throne of grace, seeking the forgiveness of all that separates us from you. As we prepare to break the bread and drink from the cup, let your Spirit purify our hearts and our minds and grant us all your wholeness and spiritual healing. 5 Weekly Announcements Women s Bible Study Opportunity Bible Study Fellowship is an interdenominational, weekly, in-depth Bible study with more than 1,000 classes in nearly 40 nations. This year our study is titled People of the Promised Land I. We will study the books of Joshua, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1-11 and overviews of Psalms and Proverbs. Class begins September 10, We meet Monday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church, Plantation Road in Fort Myers. Ladies of all ages and school-age children are invited to attend. Please come and bring a friend! The bus will leave the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. and our first stop will be Dollar Tree. After shopping SIS will have lunch at the Sunflower Café. For more information, call Nancy Combs at (239) Labor Day Weekend Parking Chapel opened its overflow parking lot to beach goers for the Labor Day weekend. We need parking attendants to help. This service raises a significant amount of funds for Chapel. Proceeds will go toward the kitchen renovation fund, which is still short of our goal. Scouting Program Regular meetings will be held on Mondays beginning September 10 from 6:30 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at Chapel in Silver Hall for boys and girls ages 7 11 and in 1 st - 5 th grades. Operation Christmas Child Worldwide, Operation Christmas Child has distributed over 113 million shoebox gifts since End to end; they would extend over 23,000 miles, which would almost encircle the earth. End of season items are still on sale at several stores. Although we may be looking toward winter, warm climate gift items are welcome year around in many countries where shoeboxes are distributed

YOGA YOGA Classes have been extended through September 26. The class meets on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m., Session Room of Silver Hall. These sessions are geared toward beginners and postures will be modified so that everyone may participate. Research continues to show that YOGA decreases stress, improves balance, and promotes better sleep. It can also help ease symptoms of depression. The instructor will have some yoga mats on hand but if you have your own, please bring it with you along with bottled water. Questions?
