Call meeting this morning A voters meeting will be held at 9:45 this morning for the purpose of calling a half-time teacher for our Christian day school. Engagement reception Everyone is invited to join the Rentas family this afternoon from 12:30-3:00 in the activity room for a lunch/reception on the occasion of the engagement of Stephanie Rentas and Michael Miller. Does technology have a downside? Would you willingly surrender your smart phone for an old fashioned rotary phone anchored to a landline? How about living without HD TV? We have come to appreciate and depend on the latest technology to make life easier. But could there be a downside, perhaps even a real threat to our faith? We ll take up this topic at Wednesday s Bible class. All are welcome. Summer vicar We will be hosting a seminary vicar later this summer. The specific schedule has not yet been worked out. He will likely spend a couple weeks with us during VBS time and then another month from mid August to mid September. He will be in need of housing while he is here. Contact Pastor if you are interested in providing lodging or have further questions. Women s Group The next meeting of the Women s Group will be a casual get-together and recipe exchange at Marcy Gurgel s house (5645 Balboa Dr., New Berlin, WI 53151) on Friday, March 3, at 7 p.m. Please bring your favorite cookbook or recipes and an appetizer to share. Please remember him in your prayers. You can follow his work at: Evangelism workshop: Messiah Lutheran of Eau Claire is sponsoring an Evangelism Workshop on Sunday, February 26, beginning at 2:30 pm. We will be hearing and discussing how the truths which were brought to light once more in the Lutheran Reformation are the same truths that save today. We ll focus on practical ways to share the message of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, founded on Scripture alone. There will be three presenters, as well as small-group discussion time. The workshop will be followed by a chili supper at 5:30 pm. The sponsors would appreciate hearing from those who are coming, for planning purposes. Let us draw near with a true heart and confess our sins unto God our Father, beseeching Him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to grant us forgiveness. Our disobedience is covered by Jesus obedience, even to the point of His death on the cross. P This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God.
