There were many Past Masters from Punta Gorda in attendance with some distinguished guests from other Lodges. Worshipful Master Steve Rizza had a special ceremony and certificate of recognition presented to each Past Master. Each one of the Past Masters had an opportunity to speak about their year as Worshipful Master, along with the Masonic journey that many have traveled. Punta Gorda is blessed to have many of our Past Masters still engaged in our Lodge which provides many of the upcoming officers and members with a wealth of knowledge. A moment of silence was also taken for those Past Masters that have moved onto that celestial kingdom. We hope to continue this tradition along with the contribution of young men taking leadership roles to further spread the lessons of Brotherly love and friendship that this Fraternity has to offer. 2 Page 2 Be the master of your own spiritual temple within. From the East R eflecting on my year as Worshipful Master, I truly believe that last year was a successful one. There were many memorable events and functions that will definitely last a lifetime. I will always remember the honor of serving you all as Worshipful Master of Punta Gorda Lodge 115. The last several years of being an Officer was by no means an easy task. There have been countless hours of practicing, Officer meetings, degrees, presentations and functions that have kept us all very busy. From the many years of service and dedication to the Craft, I learned many valuable life lessons along with enhancing my Masonic knowledge and education. This accomplishment is something that no one can ever take away from me and I appreciate the trust you all placed in me. I remember when I first started my Masonic career as an Officer of the Lodge, I told myself that this Masonic voyage was not for me but for the service of God. The Lodge has given me many opportunities to help, aide, advise, and mentor many Brothers. This has always been my passion at the Lodge and I hope that I had a small part in changing somebody s life for better. Although my year has Trestleboard ended as Worshipful Master, I will always fulfill my duties as a Past Master and continue to be an active Brother fulfilling my dedication to the Craft and service to God. There is no way I could have accomplished and completed my year as Worshipful Master without the service and dedication of my Lodge Officers who were always there to assist me; thank you all very much! Brothers this is just the conclusion of one chapter of my Masonic life, and I am very excited to begin the next chapter as a Past Master and faithful Brother. Thank you all very much for your trust and confidence to be your Worshipful Master and..continued on page 3 From the West B rethren, I would like to start by saying thank you to every Brother from Punta Gorda Lodge #115 for all that you have accomplished this past year. Your support and brotherly love has been a wonderful experience. When we use the terms in masonry such as Brotherly we refer to our Brothers. We all may have a differences at times, but as any family knows we must continue for our future Brothers as our family grows. I have had so much invaluable advice from so many elders of the lodge, I could never repay monetarily as there could never be a price for the love we shared through sidebar conversations and late night meetings to help one another out. This past year has been so gratifying that it does more than warm my heart; it also gives me a sense of pride knowing that I can go to ANY Brother with a question or concern and that Brother will move mountains to make it happen. If that isn't Brotherly love, I don't know what is! I have seen so many acts of spreading the cement of brotherly love that when someone asks, what is that ring or hat? (I ve seen those symbols before) I am so proud to tell anyone who will listen about how Great Masonry is and how life changing it can be if only you open your heart. I tell many in our community about P.G. Lodge #115 Free & Accepted Masons. Where does one start? Well, to me it was more than I bargained for in that; Brotherly Love, Charity, The Vast Riches of knowledge, Understanding and History that what made Masonry what it is today. No matter if you think you've seen it all, there is so much more you can learn every time you see a degree..continued on page 5 From the South B rothers, My year as your Junior Warden has ended. I hope you enjoyed the meals that Katie Lukasik and myself prepared for you this past year. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank the Brothers who came forward to advise me and offer assistance throughout my tenure as Junior Warden. We managed to upgrade our dinning room AC system, had all the appendant bodies on the same page in regards to use of the Lodge and gave our Lodge Room a new face lift with more improvements to come. I m very excited about the upcoming year, your line officers have made the necessary arrangements in their personal lives, so they can be dedicated to Craft. I myself will always be available to you to address any concerns or ideas you may have. We would not be able to accomplish anything without your support and there is a lot we wish to accomplish. 3 Volume 128, Issue 12 Secretary s Desk B rothers, Winter is hitting the northern states which means the snowbirds, as well as many of our northern Brothers are heading our way, let's hope and pray that they all arrive safely. For those of you who haven't been to Lodge lately, you will notice when you do return to Lodge that some of the Brothers got together and painted the Lodge room. Hopefully it will meet with your approval. We are trying to keep the Lodge as nice as possible, budget permitting. On another note, the last reminder for 2018 is the issue of Lodge dues. I have at the present time around 8 or 9 Brothers who have yet to pay their 2018 dues. As I have stated numerous times in the past, putting a Brother on (N.P.D.) non-payment of dues is the one part of my job as your Secretary that I don't enjoy doing. It is a mandatory requirement of the Grand Lodge that as Secretary I must fulfill. At this time, I'm in the process of preparing to mail out your due s notices for You should be getting them by the first of the year. Brother's, please help me out a bunch by getting your dues money back to me as soon as you possibly can. You can't imagine how much this makes my job so much easier. On a final note, I want to take a moment to THANK our out-going Worshipful Master Steve Rizza for a year well done. I would also like to wish our Worshipful Master Elect-Dave Summers all the best as he assumes the position of Worshipful Master for the year Brothers, you can only imagine the hard work, time, dedication and responsibility that goes into being Master of a Lodge. I would also like to Thank all the Past Masters who still stay active in our Lodge and help us out wherever they are needed. The Past Masters luncheon and ceremony was very moving with the Past Masters closing the lodge, two stated communications, the installation of next year s officers (December 29th) and finally our first annual Christmas party (December 14th). Tickets are now available in the lodge Thursday s and Mondays. I ask you my brothers to not forget the less fortunate amongst us and donate to the various agencies and churches that are dedicated to helping them. I hope you all have a great holiday season and look forward to seeing you at the various gatherings in our lodge. In every degree and adventure traveled, there is always something new for us all if we keep our eyes, heart, and consciences open and ready to take in so much that is offered. I hope my journey never ends; but that would be foolish to think I ll be here forever. Nevertheless, I must admit every year is more exciting than the last. Recently, Sunday 12/02/2018 to be exact, our Worshipful Master put on the very first Past Masters luncheon that I have had the privilege and honor of attending. That was more exciting and spiritually moving than I can explain. So sorry if you were not able to come out and support all the Past Masters in attendance. When I looked upon the East where Worshipful Rizza had them join, just the sight alone was very moving. Hearing their stories and experiences grabbed my heart. The years of wealth in knowledge that we have at our disposal is astounding to say the least! To our Worshipful Master, Brother Steve Rizza; thank you for everything you have accomplished; all the degrees, the work in and about the Lodge and education throughout this past year. To our Junior Warden, Brother Sean Williamson; all I can say Brother is I am so glad you are a part of our line. As many may know and if some don't, you need to get to lodge because Brother Williamson is absolutely amazing with many members and what he does for the incoming and upcoming Brothers! And, HE CAN COOK! Brother Chris De- Pass P.M. get ready! Brother Sean has spoiled the brethren' taste buds, you're going to really have to bring it! HAHAHA, LOL!!! To our Brothers Secretary Ron George and Treasurer Paul Heavener P.M., you are the glue that holds this lodge together and strongly safe guards all of our correspondence and finances making sure everything is in order! You both have a special place in my heart for offering yet another year of sacrifice away from your families, I don't know how to thank you enough, but I have some ideas. Well, Brothers; I am looking forward to the upcoming year. I know it will be exciting right from the start, especially with much that we have planned for you and the lodge. Please be patient with me at first while I tend to the butterflies. My main object is to not let the lodge crumble and burn to the ground, everything else will be a bonus; so, to speak. Now most important on my plate is to send each and every one of the Brothers from Punta Gorda #115 and the esteemed visitors and guest an enormous THANK YOU! Thank you for giving me the opportunity of serving you in the capacity of Worshipful Master for the year of This comes with GREAT PRIDE knowing that I have a very big pair of shoes to fill and having the confidence in me. Recently, through my father, I have discovered that my Great Grandfather was a Brother Mason in one of if not the largest Masonic Lodges in England (God Bless the Queen). My journey thus far, has been so rewarding every step of the way and each and every one of the Brothers; all of Punta Gorda #115 and the many revered brothers from afar have offered so many words of advice accompanied with brotherly love. For now, it is a bit overwhelming to think that I will be the Worshipful Master of Punta Gorda #115 Free & Accepted Masons and after our Past Masters luncheon and certificate ceremony, I have been filled with the spirit of God for our Lodge and brethren alike. I guess if I said I wasn't a bit nervous, I would be kidding myself. I was assured by several of the Past Masters this past Sunday, it is a passage so to speak and was informed if I wasn't concerned with doing well for my Brothers, that it wouldn't truly be in my heart to serve.
