1 June 13, 2018 The Trinity Tidings To share the love of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, by loving one another, loving our community, and putting our faith into action. Trinity Episcopal Church 410 North Pine Street P.O. Box M Florence, AL Fax: trinity@trinityflorence.org Episcopal-Church-Florence / Clergy The Rev. Dr. Andrew C. Keyse Rector The Rev. Dr. Callie Plunket-Brewton Associate Rector Episcopal Campus Ministry Chaplain The Rev. Catherine Schiesz Deacon Church Staff Noël Beck - Choir Director & Organist Simon Richardson - Youth Director Sheila Shelton - Bookkeeper Jessie Stracener - Children s Ministry Pam Turner - Nursery Supervisor Lauren Miller - Administrative Assistant Vestry and Officers Scott Townsend, Senior Warden Brian Heckert, Junior Warden Gayle Ozbirn, Treasurer Matthew Gruber, Clerk Bonnie Atkinson Caroline Bobo Cliff Darby Bob Garfrerick Mark Grisham Rachel Hillis Beth Lane Dorlea Rikard If you have had a chance to look around at any of the classrooms or the nursery or the Parish Hall or the sidewalk you might notice the remnants of places where children have played, laughed and fellowshipped together these last two Mondays. Five years ago, with encouragement from some of the parents of our parish we started a summer program for kids. When we started it was just for 4-11 year olds and we only had about 30 kids sign up. It was small staff with only myself, Callie, Ms. Belinda and Cathy Turner. Bruce Cherry volunteered to make lunch for us each Monday. Five years later we have grown far past what we originally thought possible. This year we have the biggest group of registrants and six classes led by 10 teachers, aided by 9 youth volunteers and still with Cathy and Bruce and other volunteers helping here and there. Some of our kids have been with us since the beginning and are getting ready to age out and be youth helpers, some are brand new this year. This program allows Trinity to show our community what a loving, friendly and fun place we are. When I ask kids what Trinity is to them the responses vary but the most common one is that Trinity is a place they can be with their friends, their community. We get an opportunity each week to make church a place where kids want to be and that is a priceless opportunity. Thank you all for helping to be a part of that and supporting our Children's ministry. -- Jessie Stracener, Children s Ministry Coordinator

People bring snacks and maybe something to drink. Hosts provide some light snacks and drinks. A priest or two and a musician or two shows up, ready to go. It's laid-back, holy time. We are looking for someone to host in the month of July. Give Callie a call, if you might be interested, at Congratulations to Judith Humphries and James Thompson on their completion of EfM - four years of study! If you think you might be interested, or would like more information, please contact Deacon Catherine. Daytime and nighttime classes being offered in the fall. Come read the Old Testament.
