ROSE OF LIMA WEEKLY ACTIVITIES Second Collection: September 17-18, 2016 for St. Vincent de Paul September 24-25, 2016 for Diocesan Catholic Schools Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction is every Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m A compliance representative will be at St. Rose of Lima from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm 2nd Thursday of the month. All New Volunteers are required to begin the clearance process for Messengers of Mary prays the Holy Rosary Monday - Friday at 7:30 a.m. before Mass. We will pray the rosary on Thursdays in the CHURCH (instead of the Chapel), at 11:00 a.m. Remember to pray the rosary daily. Call for prayers & Consecration to Jesus through Mary. Spanish Bible Study meets every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month in the St. Matthew Classroom, 6:00 p.m., led by Nemecio Ramos. All are welcome! Spanish Choir Practice meets every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the church. St. Rose of Lima Weekend Collections -- Sept. 3- Sept. 4 Saint Rose of Lima: Offertory $ 4, St. Vincent de Paul $ Building fund $ Fr. Ahar is visiting Nigeria until September 23rd. Please pray for his safe return. Confirmation: Starts September 11th Parents must attend with their youth. You can register now or on that day. Cost is $ st year 4:45pm 2nd year 7:00pm We are in need of teachers and aides. RCIA: Starts September 18th. The cost $25.00 Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Do you need to complete your Sacraments? Do you need to complete just Confirmation? (Three month cycle) I will work with you and your job schedule! Fr. Robert REQUIREMENTS: Baptisms The parents of the child to be baptized must submit a copy of the baby's birth certificate. Parents and godparents need to attend the parish baptismal class. Classes are given on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Please call the office to sign up for the next scheduled class. All requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the parents at this time. Baptisms are performed the first and third Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Our office staff is limited, therefore, sponsors and godparents proof of sacraments, documents and payment must be submitted at least one month before the baptism. When choosing godparents, if they are married, they must be married through the Catholic church, if single you must not be living with a partner. Donation is $ Quinceañera The candidate and her parents must contact the office at least one (1) year or more before the date requested. Quinceañera are not performed during Holy Days. Requirements: active within the parish, youth group, Religious Education, Mass attendance, etc. or Six(6) sets of meetings and volunteer ministries given by Fr. Robert. Cost is $ There is a non-refundable deposit of $ to hold the date. Balance to the church must be received in the office one week before the ceremony. Weddings The couple must contact office at least 6 months prior to the desired wedding date. An appointment will be made for the couple. At that time it will be determined if the date desired is available, and all requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the couple. 5 ST. ROSE OF LIMA NOTICES Registration for Religious Classes will be on going register in the RE office. Parent Sacrament Class: Thursday, 9/22 6:00PM in the church. This class is for all parents/guardians of children preparing for the sacraments of Confession and First Communion. Children in 3rd grade and above are considered eligible to receive both of these sacraments. This meeting is Mandatory and is considered one of the requirements for your child to receive the sacraments. Please bring a copy of your child's Baptismal certificate with you to the class. Thank you and we look forward to working with you in preparing your children for these precious sacraments. ROSE OF LIMA FINANCE COUNCIL MEETING This Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 6p.m. Meet in the Office We need volunteers to help peel chili. On Thursday, September 15 & 22, 2016, after the 8.am. Mass. Volunteers are always welcome. Please contact the RE office if you are interested in helping. (928) Rosary Celebration Poster Contest St. Rose of Lima Religious Education will be hosting a K-12 Poster Contest in honor of the Arizona Rosary Celebration. Poster Contest Rules: 1. Theme: Corporal Works of Mercy 2. An image of Our Lady of Mercy must be in the poster. 3. Contest judging categories: K-2, 3-5, 6th- High School. One winner will be chosen from each category and the winner will receive a pizza party for their class. 4. Each poster should be 8 1/2 X 11 in size. 5. The art work must be free-hand (Completely student done, not computer generated) The student name, age, grade, and parent name should be written on the back right hand corner of the poster. Due Date: All entries must be submitted to the child s RE teacher by October 20th. Winners will be notified on October 28th and announced in the October 30th bulletin. The St. Rose of Lima Youth Group would like to say "THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the Catholic Daughters of The Americas for the generous donation of $ We appreciate you!! Jr. High and High School groups have begun! Just a few things to share: Attend Mass together as a Family. High School Youth Group meet every Sunday (except holiday weekends) from 12:30-2pm in the CAVE. Please arrive prior to 2pm. Teachers & Aids cannot leave until all youth are picked up. Youth Choir practice every Tuesday at 4:30 in the church choir loft. Please encourage your youth to share his/her talent. Parents please remind the youth that the 11:30am Mass is their Mass (Youth Mass). They re to take ownership and be eager and ready to serve. Please encourage your youth to volunteer for readers, greeters, ushers and gift takers. Readers will receive training prior to reading the word of the Lord as Mass. Classes are being offered for K-8 grade. Confirmation Confirmation classes for high school students/adults will ONLY be offered if there are enough candidates enrolled. Please register in the office. Friendly reminder - Parents please continue to sign the clipboard located at the church entrance or bring a bulletin from the church you attended to verify Mass attendance. IMPORTANT CHANGE: Religious Education Classes are on Mondays from 4:15 5:30 in the parish hall. REMINDER: Due to Safe Compliance regulations, students must be signed-out at the conclusion of Religious Education class at 5:30. ONLY the parent(s) or designated adults listed on the registration form will be allowed to pick students up.
