Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are dedicated to living the Gospel through worship, prayer and service to all of God s people. The Church of St. William was started in 1963 by Archbishop Leo Binz who named the parish after his predecessor, Archbishop William Brady. St. William was born in 1085 in Vercelli, Italy. William was a hermit who led a life of solitude, prayer, penance and sharing of faith by founding several religious communities in Italy. It is said that St William performed a miracle by restoring the sight to a blind man. St William died in His feast day is observed on June 25.

EASTER PLANT/FLOWER MEMORIAL If you would like to purchase an Easter Plant/flower for our Worship Space in memory of a loved one, you can do so by sending your donation along with the PRINTED NAME (please print clearly) of the person to the Parish Office or you may put in the collection basket at Mass. A memorial list will be published following the Easter Celebration. Please mark your envelopes Easter Plant Memorials Envelopes can also be found at ALL the entrances of the church. SAVE THE DATE APRIL 2:00 PM Schedule for Holy Week. Confessions Tuesday April 16 8:30 to 9:00AM and 5:30 to 6:30pm (please use the chapel door on the NW side of church) Wednesday April 17th 8:30 to 9:00AM Sacred Triduum Thursday, April 18th Mass of the Lord s Supper at 7:00PM. After Mass those who would like to participate in the foot washing may do so at the stations in the North and South corners of the church. There will be chairs, water and towels. Friday, April 19th Stations of the Cross at 3:00PM Good Friday Service with Holy Communion at 7:00PM Saturday, April 20th Solemn Easter Vigil and Mass at 7:00PM (no 3:15pm confessions and no 4:00pm Mass) Sunday, April 21st Easter Masses at 8:45AM and 10:30AM Monday, April 22nd is a staff holiday. No Mass and the parish office is closed Fr David will be gone on vacation from April 22nd until April 30th. There will be word/communion services during the week. The weekend Masses on April 27/28th will be covered by Fr. Michael Joncas. On Sunday, April 29th there is a dedication organ recital at 2:00pm in Church by Kraig Windschitl. All are invited. All are cordially invited to hear our organist Kraig Windschitl perform a dedication concert featuring the new Rodger s Infinity 361 organ. The concert will be Sunday, April 28th at 2:00 pm in the Church. Invite your friends and family. All are Welcome. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been disbanded for the summer months and will start up again in the fall. Thank you to all who have made prayer shawls! Volunteers Needed!!! The local Meals-On-Wheels is supported by several churches in the Fridley-Columbia Heights-SLP area, including St. Williams. The program, located in Unity Hospital, provides wholesome lunches to the elderly and shut-ins in our area. Volunteers from St. Williams drive and deliver one week every other month, on a 9-week cycle. A volunteer covers one route, requiring about 1 ½ hours, each day. Some volunteer for a single day, others have time to do an entire week. Whatever you can do is a big help. We have barely enough people to cover the routes, and most have been volunteering for years. We need a few more volunteers. Can you help? Contact Frank

3 FAITH FORMATION Sunday School Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Atrium) classes: 8:40-9:40 in Rooms 7 & 8 April 21: No Class - HAPPY EASTER! 1 st -5 th Graders are welcome and encouraged to hear the Word of God together as a group during the 8:45 a.m. Mass! No registration needed, just join in each Sunday! 6 th -8 th Graders Wed., April 24 th 6:30-7:45 p.m. - Topic Life to Text Morality Learning to use everyday life issues, to live what we believe about Scripture (the Scripture text), to think theologically about moral issues. Potluck of treats towards the end of class. 6 th -8 th Gr. and High School Youth social afterwards from 7:45-8:15 p.m. Confirmation Youth Group Wed., April 24 th 6:30-7:45 p.m. Didn t get your Butter Braid Bread or Coffee order? Contact Cindy or the parish office to arrange another time. Books and Media Fundraiser Thank you to ALL who donated books, CD s, DVD s, Video Games, etc! It was a great fundraiser for our youth! The Youth Group will have another sale in the Fall, so continue to set aside anything you would like to donate, and we will start collecting them in the Fall! Thank you ALL! SOCIAL JUSTICE & OUTREACH Outreach Ministry The April outreach collection is for Bridgeview, a local nonprofit providing mental health services, meals and material resources. A list of needed items is in the Gathering Space collection crib and at church entrances. SACA also needs nonperishable food donations which can be left in the blue collection barrel in the Gathering Space. An Upcoming Event Families Moving Forward partners with faith communities to help families struggling with homelessness. Compassionate volunteers are needed and absolutely essential to welcome and support the families. Have you volunteered with Families Moving Forward at St. William? Or have you thought about volunteering or want to know more about the program? If you said yes to any of those questions, you are invited to an event at St. William on Saturday April 27th from 9am to noon in Keefe Hall. Sakinah Mujahid, Associate Director of Shelter Services for Families Moving Forward, will share updated information about the FMF program and how to extend the best hospitality to the families. A light breakfast will be available. Please sign up to attend in the Gathering Space after Mass so we have enough food and handouts.
