However, prayer is more than just a one-way street. Imagine if your human relationships were like that, just one person doing all the talking they probably wouldn t last long! So how do we listen to God? How do we discern His voice and what He s saying to us? 8 Guest Speaker Canon Dr. Christina Baxter, CBE Sunday, March 31 Guest Preacher 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Church Basic Bible Study 10:15 a.m. Bagby Parish Hall Living the Liturgy Canon Dr. Christina Baxter, CBE is a former Principal of St John s College, Nottingham and has pursued a distinguished career as an educationalist and theologian. Before her appointment as Principal, Dr. Baxter had given long service to St. John s College, first as a lecturer and then as Dean. Throughout her varied career Dr. Baxter has maintained a strong interest in Systematic Theology, in particular the theology of ordination and the theology of Karl Barth, and in Anglicanism and the Church of England. Dr. Baxter is a member of the Church of England and has been a Reader since Until her retirement in 2010, Dr. Baxter was a prominent member of the General Synod, holding the position of Chair of the House of Laity and member of The Archbishops Council. Aging With Grace: Health Care Rights and Responsibilities Monday, March :30 a.m. When you go to a new doctor or hospital, you are given information about your rights and responsibilities as a patient. We will review some of the key features, as well as explain ways that you can assure that your health care wishes will be followed. How to Avoid Ethical Pitfalls Wednesday, March 27 6:30 8 p.m. There is no doubt that navigating the waters of ethical responsibilities in your place of work or practice can seem tricky and sometimes daunting. By being proactive, addressing potential conflicts and discussing them with colleagues, we can avoid the sticky situations that lead to ethics board hearings, lawsuits and more. In this training, you will review the ethical pitfalls that many mental health professionals encounter and how to avoid them. This CEU event is geared toward Mental Health Professionals.
