I hope I have spelled everything right. I had to PM jedwil to find out what his wife s name was, now that was kinda embarrassing, since she and I talked a lot. I was glad to see jedwil pick up a 1911 on the way home. Once you hold a 1911 and get to shoot it a few rounds, it s hard to do without one. Right John? and Charles? I also hear that bluesea112 (Charles) also picked up one the next day after I left. Congrats on the purchase guys. I know you will enjoy them. It was kinda funny, jedwil bought grips before he had the gun. So I know he had visions of the gun before he left the meet. All this happened after the trip to the range or River trip. I am waiting on the pictures form Willie, but he is out of town. I think he said he had some pictures of the River shooting trip. I was just too busy talking and meeting old friends for the first time, as someone said, to make my own pictures. So if anyone has any pictures that is not pictured in this.pdf, please send them to me and I will add them on to the bottom of the storyboard. Really friends, if you have never been to one of these meets, you need to make every effort to make it to the next one. It is something you will never regret. It s like a family reunion. You know all of them, just have to connect them with a name. All in all, this was a really great meet, and Josh and Bec was the best hosts ever. Good food, lots of talking, lots of ideas exchanged. I did my little thing on how I make the gun grips, and it was well received I might add. A lot of questions were ask and answered. I showed the jigs I use and explained to the best of my knowledge of how I used them. I know I have a hard time explaining a lot of things, but I do hope all of you understood the process of grip making. I think we will have 2 new grip makers in the future, Josh and Charles. They were very interested in the woods, and tools. I could go on and on but will stop the chat for now and let you get to the rest of the story Forgive me if I have left anything or anybody out. 2 This can be enlarged at the top of the page for a better view. Our trip to the TFF TX 4 This first set of pictures are from the camera of the Carvers. This shot was made up in the field where we all gathered to watch the shooting of the Cannon. This was awesome. Looks like from this picture that Charles had a lot of supervision, then John said the heck with it and was walking away. As you continue you will see some better views of the cannon. Charles made this to shoot Golf Balls, using Black Powder. This is the results of the many suggestions on bore sighting. At least it hit the target the last shot. Staying with the Cannon these next pictures were made by Felecity (FRED) Dale s Wife. Can you believe they asked me to watch the Golf Ball come out of the cannon and hit the target. (No way could it be seen) especially if you were behind the canon. You will see why in these next photoes. However on the last shot I stood where I could have a side view and covered the view of the cannon with my hand and just looked at the target, and actually saw the ball hit. But boy did it have the volicity. WoW! The small picture is of the cannon with the fuse lit. (Fire in the Hole). The next one is the smoke right after the Boom. The cannon flipped and the smoke rolled. Couldn t see a thing. I really don t know how she snapped the picture at the precise moment to catch the cannon in the flip. You can inagine how fast all this happened, and to think they ask me to watch the Golf ball. I could not see a nothing but smoke.

4 This was just a portion of the food. There was food everywhere. Josh s wife Becky made a potato salad that was to die for. We had baked beans, and all the trimmings for the Brisket, Ribs and Sirloin,with Josh s homemade BBQ sauce. The first night Carver thru together what he called Bikers Stew that was delicious. Then Dale brought out the homemade Chicken soup that again was to die for. So good, and just what we needed for the first night. You can imagine how tired and hungry we were, so this fast food as someone called it really hit the spot. The next morning Josh or Beck, not sure really which one went because Sam and I got up really early and went to Ihop (that s where Ilean works, she even has a peg leg). Back to the story they went somewhere and got some c ker rotches. I think I have misspelled that, it might be Kolaches. All I know is that they were good. It is a Czechoslovakian pastry and it is delicious. I had never heard of them until the TX meet. This next picture has to be of importance, I don t remember what we were talking about, but I was really pointing something out to Willie and Joanne. Might not have been that important, but they seemed interested anyway. I think everyone there bought some SBGO gun oil, so I m sure I will have some repeat customers in the future. Might not tho, because this stuff last forever and a day. Carl Willie Joanne

5 Carver (Myles Bryant) Becky (Dodge-Kimber) Josh (JLA) John (jedwil) Same group just a different angle. I don t have a clue as to what they are doing. I think Josh is playing with his phone, or a gun of some kind. There was never a dull moment. Anyone that has not made it to one of these meet and greets, really needs to make every effort to come to the next one within your driving range, or get up a car pool or something. I have not talked to one person that said they would not do it again. You get to meet such nice folks and we all have a lot in common. Just plain old country folks. I will now jump ahead to the pictures that Charles (blueseas112) posted on the forum. I would like to add that Charles is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He pulled a stump for me just so I could have the wood. The wood by the way was Bois D Arc, better known as Osage Orange or Hedge apple. This wood is so yellow when green and first cut. I brought some of it home and checked the moisture content and found it to be about 26 to 28 percent. It needs to be at about 14% for my part of the country. I put a piece of it in my truck bed on a conveyor belt liner that I use, the belt is about 1/2 inch thick and gets really hot when in the sun. I left the wood there one day and checked the moister content, it was 18% so I may have me a built in kiln. I don t think using this belt it will take over a week to get it to where I want it. Then I will wait for a few weeks to work with it to be sure it is OK.

6 These pictures show the camp ground that belongs to Charles. It is breath taking. All the cabins are of Log construction and beautiful. He also has a lot of RVs in the park. Here are a few pictures of his place. You will have to agree this place is absolutely beautiful. He takes such good care of it. Every thing was manicured so neat and nice. If you are ever in the area of Waco you need to pay Charles a visit. Really a nice person to meet and a beautiful spot to park it for the night. Or however long you can. I would have stayed a week if I could have.

7 These last pictures are a little hard to see since it was at night and the kids were roasting marshmallows, they were having a great time. Pictured above is Autumn and Josh s younger son. I forgot his name, y all will have to forgive me on names. Looks like Becky is going to get into the roasting also. I wish the pictures could have been a little better but at least y all can see that we had a blast. Josh and Becky are such good hosts. Really nice folks, and I m gonna go back next year, good lord s a willing and the creeks don t rise.
