1 My brother Owwwwwww! This is what I said for minute after minute as tears rolled down my face. I said this because I was put into the figure four for at least 20 minutes. The figure four is when your legs are crossed into a four, and then brought to the back of your head. Other times like this happen when I get bombarded with punches. I begin to cry, and then I hear, You re such a baby! Situations like this happen a lot, when I m hanging out with my older brother Qwenton. In my speech I plan to talk about the good, bad, and tough times with my 26 year old brother, Qwenton. Ever since I was little, my brother has always been there when I have needed him. But there have been some exceptions. For example, one day my brother, his friends, and I were playing basketball at the neighborhood court. A couple of guys, not my 1

2 brother s friends, decided it would be fun if they drove past, and did a drive by with a paintball gun. So, they drove slowly down the road, looking a little suspicious. When they pulled up to the court, they stopped. One of my brother s friends went up to the car. One of its occupants rolled the window down and began to shoot the paintball gun. Pew! Pew! Pew! Paint flew everywhere. That s all I could hear as the people scattered, including my brother, and leaving me alone in the crossfire. My brother took cover, leaving me in the open. It took him a while to realize this, O wait I have brother and he is out there. Unfortunately, it was too late; I had been shot in the stomach. After the car sped away, I was left lying on the ground crying. My brother immediately knew it was me. He picked me up and ran me home. When I got there my mom got me some ice, and I put it on my wound. It 2

3 was just a little bruise, no bleeding. I still can t believe he left me like that. That was one of the bad times. Another situation that was bad was when I was playing outside with Qwenton, and his friends walked up to our house. They started talking, and somehow I ended up in one of their hands. His friend picked me up, threw me up in the air, and caught me. He did it again, same conclusion. I began to really enjoy this until, the 3 rd time. He threw me up, and I hit the ground. After throwing me up, he turned to talk, and forgot to catch me. I hit the ground head first. Again, I began to cry. Yet again my brother ran me in the house, and got me some ice. There was no bleeding, just a little bump. This is was yet another bad time with my brother. 3

4 By now I m sure you are thinking that all my brother and I share are a bad times; that is certainly not the case. We share many good times too. Every time he had a basketball game, he became my wingman. I was the little boy who was so cute the girls couldn t resist me. I would have ladies all over me, even more than Vassili. They would say, Oh my gosh, you are so cute! I would say in my deep voice, Thank you! And then I would run to my brother. In fact, I think this is how he has gotten every one of his girlfriend s. Qwenton, you re welcome. This happened for 4 years straight. So, I guess you could say I was a ladies baby. Some other good times are at Qwenton s semi-pro football games. The teams he has played on are always good. It s fun to see his team completely dominate the other team. For example, 4

5 when his team (the D.M.V Knights) played (the Virginia Wildcats), the score was 82 to 14. It s especially fun to see my brother score a touchdown then attempt to dance. After the games are over, we grab a bite to eat, and head home. These are just a couple of the good times. When it comes to tough times, we have been through them together. Such as the time my grandfather became sick. The doctor said that he was having trouble breathing, and if he became unresponsive, they shouldn t attempt to resuscitate him. This hit my brother hard because my grandfather has always been there for him. As I was sitting in the hospital waiting room, Qwenton walked in. When I showed him my grandfather, he walked into the waiting room, and began to cry. We were both hurting, but it was hurting him more. He doesn t get to talk to our grandparents a lot, like I do, because he is always busy, and 5

6 I know this incident made him realize how important family is. All my family could do was pray then, and miraculously, my grandfather got better. Within a couple weeks, he was out of the ICU and into a regular room. Although Qwenton doesn t come around as much as we want him to, he comes around more than he used to. I am so blessed to have a brother as great as him. I want to thank him for always taking me to his football games, parties, and to the basketball court, even when it has inconvenienced him.
