2 Rochelle Owlsey- "Bags..." Reverend Dr. Bishop E. Carter, III, Moderator From the Moderator s Desk It is a privilege and honor to greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ! I am truly blessed to be your chosen Moderator, and to present my mission statement as a mandated focus for the Consolidated Baptist District Association for this term of office. The Vision God has given me for the CBDA is based on this theme and text: "Serve, Suffer, and Sacrifice: It's All About Jesus!" Romans 12:1-2. God wants us to "Serve, Suffer, and Sacrifice" for His Glory. The way we are to do this is through Jesus the Christ. We "Serve" Him through churches by being good stewards of the Word of God. We "Suffer" in His service because this world is no friend to Grace, and we present ourselves as a living "Sacrifice" holy and acceptable to our Lord which is our reasonable service! As we come together in this 132nd annual session, let us pray that God will first get the glory and that we will unity through the spirit to do His business of kingdom building. Tote Bags, Boat Totes, Book & Bible Covers, Lunchboxes, Christmas Stockings, Adult & Child Aprons, Potholders, Pillows, Sweatshirts and T-shirts, Furniture, and Custom-designed Wall Hangings. 9 From the Desk of the Convention President COME AND JOIN US IN OUR FOURTH ANNUAL SESSION OF KENTUCKY MISSIONARY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION THEME: THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD CONVENING WITH ST. JOHN MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH HOPKINSVILLE, KY. PASTOR: REV. N. A. KIRBY AUGUST 16-18, 2011 MODERATOR REV. L. H. McINTYRE 1ST. VICE REV. M. L. RADFORD 2ND VICE REV. P. A. YATES 3RD VICE REV. E. DUKE To: The Body of the Consolidated Baptist District Sunday School/BTU Convention Dear Brothers & Sisters in our Christ: We greet you in the name and with the love of our Christ! As this week progresses, we ll be coming down to the last mile of the way with me serving as your President. There are no words to express what an experience in love it has been for me, especially when it comes to watching God do His perfect work of growth in all of us. I would like to believe that by keeping Jesus in the forefront, our Officers and Executive Boards will be leaving the Convention a little bit better than we found her. In the meantime, we re not done yet! Though a couple of us will be stepping aside in official capacities, we all still need to follow our theme, and Stay (2Thess. 2:15) stay with His Word, stay with His will, and stay with His way as dictated by the Holy Spirit. In the four years I ve served as your President, I have been assured anew that God s way is definitely the best way. Our Dean, Rev. Samuel Peoples, and Assoc. Dean, Rev. Daniel Childs, will continue their stellar and diligent work of ensuring classes are accommodating and informative. Youth Director Fred Moody, who joined me at the beginning of this journey, certainly will not leave the cupboard bare as he and Asst. Youth Director, Rev. Tony Weathers, and the Youth Minister, Min. Michial Dunn have made preparations for our District Youth, including Youth President Shantoya Richardson and her staff, will have an educational and exciting experience during this Annual Session week. Most definitely Vice-Presidents (Rev.) John E. Reese, Jr., and Sis. Beata Pickens will be on hand as will the rest of the Convention staff as we gather in one bond of Christian love to enjoy the blessings waiting for us from above. So, in closing I d like to tell you I m not quite ready to quote the Apostle Paul out of 2Tim. 4:6-8 as I d like to believe there are still a few more risings and settings of the sun for me yet! I have grown to love this District more than I ever did, so what I will tell you is if ever I am needed to lend a helping hand, as the songwriter said I ll be Somewhere Listening for My Name. God bless you and keep you all, and know that you are loved by this servant! Yours in Christ, Rev. Alphonso Williams, President Consolidated District SS/BTU Convention
